Guyana Zoo

Guyana Zoo (officially Guyana Zoological Park) is a zoo located in Georgetown, the capital of Guyana. The zoo officially opened in 1952, but its grounds had been used as botanical gardens since 1895. Some of its most popular attractions are Harpy Eagles and manatees. As of 2005, the zoo had approximately 25 staff. The Calgary Zoo has partnered with Guyana Zoo as "sister" zoos.

State House, Guyana

State House (formerly "Government House") located in Georgetown, is the official residence of the President of Guyana. National Cultural Centre (Guyana)

The National Cultural Centre, the premier auditorium for cultural presentations in Guyana, is located on Homestretch Avenue, D’Urban Park, in Georgetown. It rises 62 feet, is 240 feet long and 115 feet wide, and seats about 2,000 people. Its stage is 48 feet deep with an orchestra pit, and has a 72-foot wide and 20-foot high opening. The Centre is decorated with a chandelier made of local woods over the main staircase, and a Denis Williams mural, entitled "Memorabilia 11".

The Business School Guyana

The Business School was founded in 1975 by Erma Bovell. Bovell, a deeply religious individual, started the school to provide secretarial training for girls from low-income households. These girls were unable to get an education in the public school system in Guyana. This training provided them opportunities to gain employment and to play a positive role in their curriculum. Castellani House, Guyana

Castellani House is a large nineteenth-century building, which is situated on the corner of Vlissengen Road and Homestretch Avenue in Georgetown, Guyana. It was designed and constructed by the Maltese architect, Cesar Castellani, between 1879 and 1882.
