Nonpareil, Guyana
Nonpareil (from the French and meaning matchless, inimitable) was the name of a sugarcane plantation, and later a village, on the east coast Demerara Region of Guyana that operated until the mid 20th century. Although the factory and village were torn down and disassembled in the 1940s, its population survived and formed the majority of the population of Enterprise, a modern village located one mile away from the site of old Nonpareil.

Demerara-Mahaica (Region 4) is a region of Guyana, bordering the Atlantic Ocean to the north, the region of Mahaica-Berbice to the east, the region of Upper Demerara-Berbice to the south and the region of Essequibo Islands-West Demerara to the west. It contains the country's capital Georgetown. Other towns in the region include Buxton, Enmore, Victoria and Paradise.

Guyana Zoo
Guyana Zoo (officially Guyana Zoological Park) is a zoo located in Georgetown, the capital of Guyana. The zoo officially opened in 1952, but its grounds had been used as botanical gardens since 1895. Some of its most popular attractions are Harpy Eagles and manatees. As of 2005, the zoo had approximately 25 staff. The Calgary Zoo has partnered with Guyana Zoo as "sister" zoos.
Cyril Potter College of Education
The Cyril Potter College of Education is a teacher training college in Guyana. The main institute is located at Turkeyen, and there are branches located in New Amsterdam, Rose Hall, Linden, Vreed-en-Hoop and Anna Regina. Teachers have to travel from rural areas to attend classes. It is descended from the Teachers’ Training Centre (TTC), Guyana's first teacher training college, established in 1928.
Victoria, Guyana
Victoria is located on the Atlantic coast of Guyana, 18 miles east of Georgetown and bordered by Cove and John to the west and Belfield to the east. It was the first village in Guyana to be bought by the combined resources of Africans who had recently won their freedom from slavery. The community was initially established as a plantation called Northbrook.
