Ellinikon International Airport
Ellinikon International Airport, sometimes spelled Hellinikon was the international airport of Athens, Greece for sixty years up until 2001, when it was replaced by the new Athens International Airport. The grounds of the airport are located 7 kilometres south of Athens, and just west of Glyfada. It was named after the village of Elliniko (Elleniko), now a suburb of Athens. The IATA code formerly used for the airport is now in use for Eleftherios Venizelos Airport.
Faliro
Faliro is a seaside suburb 8 km southwest of downtown Athens. There are two communities sharing the name: Palaio (Old) and Neo (New) Faliro. Palaio Faliro is a municipality, whereas Neo Faliro is part of the town of Piraeus. Although the two communities mark the northwestern and southwestern ends of the namesake Bay, they are not contiguous. The sandy bay in the southwest, named Phaleron Bay, is lined near Poseidonos Avenue.
Panathenaic Stadium
The Panathenaic Stadium or Panathinaiko (Greek: Παναθηναϊκό στάδιο, also known as the Kallimarmaro,is the most ancient stadium in use in the world, is an athletic stadium in Athens that hosted the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. Reconstructed from the remains of an ancient Greek stadium, the Panathenaic is the only major stadium in the world built entirely of white marble and is one of the oldest in the world.
Hellinikon Olympic Complex
The Hellinikon Olympic Complex is situated at Hellinikon on the east coast of Greece south of Athens, approximately 16 kilometres from the Olympic Village. It was built on the site of the former Ellinikon International Airport for the staging of the 2004 Summer Olympics and 2004 Summer Paralympics. It consists of 5 separate venues.
Agios Kosmas Olympic Sailing Centre
The Agios Kosmas Olympic Sailing Centre hosted the sailing events at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. The center is located about four miles from downtown Athens along the coast. It was officially opened on August 2, 2004, a few weeks before the Olympics, though test events were conducted at the site in August 2002 and 2003. The center had a capacity of 1,600 for the medal ceremonies.

Nea Smyrni Stadium
Nea Smyrni Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Athens, Greece. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Panionios G.S.S. which plays for the Greek Super League. The stadium is located in the southern suburb of Nea Smyrni, which is the heart of the team's fanbase. The all seated stadium holds 11,700 spectators and was built in 1939.

Glyfada Indoor Hall, officially named, Makis Liougas Indoor Hall (Greek: ΕΘΝΙΚΟ ΑΘΛΗΤΙΚΟ ΚΕΝΤΡΟ ΓΛΥΦΑΔΑΣ «ΜΑΤΘΑΙΟΣ ΛΙΟΥΓΚΑΣ») is an indoor arena in Glyfada, Athens, Greece. It was built in 1970, and its current capacity is 4,532 seats. The arena is used mainly for volleyball and basketball games.
First Cemetery of Athens
The First Cemetery of Athens (Greek: Πρώτο Νεκροταφείο Αθηνών) is the official cemetery of the City of Athens and the first to be built. It opened in 1837 and soon became a luxurious cemetery for famous Greek people and foreigners. The cemetery is located behind the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Panathinaiko Stadium in central Athens. It can be found at the top end of Anapafseos Street (Eternal Rest Street). It is large green space including pines and cypresses.
Tactual Museum of Athens
The Tactual Museum of Athens was founded in Athens in 1984 so that visually impaired people may become familiarised with the cultural heritage of Greece. The museum's exhibits are copies of original artifacts of the Mycenaean, Geometric, Archaic, Austere, classical, Hellenistic and Roman periods. There are also exhibits from the Byzantine era and works of art from visually impaired people.
Evgenidio Foundation
The Evgenidio Foundation (Greek: Ίδρυμα Ευγενίδου, "Eugenidis Foundation") was established in 1956 in Athens, Greece implementing the will of the late Greek benefactor Εugenios Eugenidis, who died in April 1954. It has the form of private legal entity under law. The activity of the foundation, in accordance with its articles of association, is to contribute to the scientific and technological education of young people in Greece.
Municipal Art Gallery of Piraeus
The Municipal Art Gallery of Piraeus is a museum in Piraeus, Greece. It was inaugurated in 1957 as part of the Municipal Library in the building of the Municipal Theatre. In 1985 it became an independent department. It is now housed in a building a few blocks away, at 29 Filonos Str.

Hellinikon Olympic Arena
The Hellinikon Olympic Indoor Arena is a multi-use sports indoor arena that is located in Ellinikon, Athens, Greece. It is a part of the Hellinikon Olympic Complex, and it is located adjacent to the Hellinikon Fencing Hall. It is approximately 10 miles from the Athens Olympic Village. It was built on the site of the former Hellinikon International Airport for the 2004 Summer Olympics and the 2004 Summer Paralympics. The facility seats 15,000 spectators for basketball, and 13,500 for handball.

Faliro Sports Pavilion Arena
The Faliro Sports Pavilion Arena which is part of the Faliro Coastal Zone Olympic Complex is an indoor arena in Faliro, near Piraeus, Athens, Greece. It is nicknamed "The Little Peace And Friendship Stadium", due to its similarity in design and close proximity to the Peace and Friendship Stadium. It was the site of the 2004 Athens Summer Olympics preliminary matches of handball, as well as the taekwondo competition.

The Hellinikon Olympic Canoe/Kayak Slalom Centre is located in the Hellinicon Olympic Complex in Greece. The venue hosted the canoe slalom events for the 2004 Summer Olympics. It consists of a competition course, a secondary training course, and a warm-up lake of natural form that occupies a total area of 27,000 square metres. The total land surface area consists of 288,000 square metres. The facility seats 7,600 spectators, though only 6,700 seats were made publicly available for the Olympics.

The Hellinikon Olympic Hockey Centre was the site of the field hockey events at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. Located in the Hellinikon Olympic Complex, the facility consists of two hockey fields. The larger stadium seats 7,200 fans – though only 5,200 seats have been made publicly available during the games, and the smaller stadium seats 2,100 spectators – though only 1,200 seats have been made publicly available during the games.
Hellinikon Olympic Softball Stadium
The Hellinikon Olympic Softball Stadium is a softball stadium located in the Hellinikon Olympic Complex. It hosted the softball competitions during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. The venue consists of a main softball field of 4,800 seats - though only 3,400 seats were made publicly available during the games - and 2 warm-up fields nearby. Construction on the facility was completed on February 29, 2004, and it was officially opened on July 30, 2004.
Swissair Flight 316
On 8 October 1979, a Swissair DC-8 crashed while attempting to land at Athens-Ellinikon International Airport. Of the 154 passengers and crew on board, 14 perished in the accident.
