German cruiser Admiral Scheer
Admiral Scheer was a Deutschland-class heavy cruiser (often termed a pocket battleship) which served with the Kriegsmarine of Nazi Germany during World War II. The vessel was named after Admiral Reinhard Scheer, German commander in the Battle of Jutland. She was laid down at the Reichsmarinewerft shipyard in Wilhelmshaven in June 1931 and completed by November 1934.

The University of Kiel (German Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, CAU) is a university in the city of Kiel, Germany. The University of Kiel is the largest, oldest, and most prestigious in the state of Schleswig-Holstein.
Kiel Transmission Tower
The Fernmeldeturm Kiel (Telecommunication Tower Kiel) is a modern landmark of Kiel in Germany, completed in 1975. The 230 metre high tower, which is used for directional services and TV-, VHF- and UHF-transmission is not accessible to the public. The basket of this tower, which belongs to German Telekom Inc. has a diameter of 40 metres. The tower is actually the highest point in Schleswig-Holstein, with the highest natural feature in the entire state being the Bungsberg at 168 metres.

It is part of the ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) group, owned by ThyssenKrupp The Howaldtswerke shipyard was founded in Kiel in 1838 and merged with Hamburg-based Deutsche Werft to form Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft (HDW) in 1968.

Holstein Kiel
Holstein Kiel (KSV Holstein or Kieler SV Holstein) is a German association football and sports club based in the city of Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein. Through the 1910s and 1920s the club was a dominant side in northern Germany winning six regional titles and finishing as runners-up another six times. Holstein also made regular appearances in the national playoffs, finishing as vice-champions in 1910 before capturing their only German title in 1912.

The Kieler Nachrichten (literally "Kiel News") or KN is the only German language newspaper published in Kiel, Germany. It is published by "Kieler Zeitung Verlags und Druckerei KG-GmbH & Co. ", a subdivision of Axel Springer AG which owns 24.5 percent of the company. The newspaper's office is located at Asmus-Bremer-Platz between Holstenstraße and the Kiel city hall. The KN was first published on April 3, 1946, with the permission of the British in occupied Germany after World War II.

delta radio is a radio station from Kiel, Germany. It is a branch of Mach3 broadcasting along with Radio Schleswig-Holstein (RS-H) and Radio Nora (all of Kiel). Delta radio prides itself for its different, and alternative image, as its slogan "Klingt anders" sums up. Delta radio has been a focal point for numerous northern German, and even Scandinavian bands to get their footing in the Central European market. Delta radio focuses on rock music and is a sponsor station of Indiecator.

The Zoological Museum of Kiel University is a zoological museum in Kiel, Germany. It was founded by naturalist Karl Möbius, and architect Martin Gropius designed the building. Landtag of Schleswig-Holstein
The Schleswig-Holstein Landtag is the state diet of the German federal state of Schleswig-Holstein. It convenes in the state's capital Kiel and currently consists of 69 members of six parties. Its main competences are in the fields of education, culture, regional planning and domestic politics. The current majority is a coalition of the Social Democratic Party, The Greens and the South Schleswig Voter Federation, supporting the cabinet of Minister-President Torsten Albig.
Kieler Yacht-Club
Kieler Yacht-Club or Kiel Yacht Club (as it is called in English), is one of the oldest yacht clubs in Germany. It is located in the harbor city of Kiel. This club is well known for some of the yacht racing events it organizes. The main one is the yearly Kieler Woche, which is perhaps the biggest sailing event in the world. In 1972, when the Olympic Games were held in Munich, the Olympic sailing competitions took place in the Kiel Bay and this yacht club had a major role in their organization.

The Marine-Regatta-Verein (MRV), "Naval Regatta Union", is a yacht club of the German Navy. Its main branch is located in the harbor city of Kiel, and it has branches in different states of Germany. This club promotes both sailing and powerboating. Many of its members also are engaged in yacht racing and yacht cruising around the world.
Kaiserlicher Yacht Club
Kaiserlicher Yacht-Club, "Imperial Yacht Club", was one of the forerunners of the Kiel Yacht Club. Known also as "Küz" from its acronym KYC, it was a prestigious yacht club located in the harbor city of Kiel, Germany. German Emperor Wilhelm II, his younger brother Prince Heinrich of Prussia and Alfred Krupp were among its members.

It is open daily without charge. Kiel has had various botanical gardens since 1668, when professor Johann Daniel Major (1634–1693) established his horticus medicus within the garden of Kiel Castle.

Kiel Central Station (Kiel Hauptbahnhof) is the main railway station in the northern German city of Kiel. It consists of six rail tracks, all of which are electrified, and is a hub for train services to nearby towns such as Plön and Eckernförde.
Walther Schücking Institute of International Law
The Walther Schücking Institute of International Law at the University of Kiel was founded in 1914 as the Institut für Internationales Recht and is the oldest university institute for public international law in Germany. The Institute was renamed in 1995 in honor of Walther Schücking, professor of international law at the University of Kiel from 1926-1933 and the first German judge at the Permanent Court of International Justice in The Hague from 1930-1935.
Kiel Castle
Kiel Castle in Kiel in the north German state of Schleswig-Holstein was one of the secondary residences of the Gottorf dukes. The castle exhibited a very varied architectural history and in the more recent architectural period became one of the most important secular buildings in Schleswig-Holstein. The castle burned down during the Second World War and its ruins were largely carried away and replaced by a new building.
Kiel Opera House
The Kiel Opera House is an opera house located in Kiel, Germany. It is that city's major venue for opera, ballet, and orchestral performances. It was designed by architect Heinrich Seeling and built from 1905-1907. The first performance at the house was of Beethoven's Fidelio on 1 October 1907. Aerial bombings destroyed much of the original structure in 1942 and 1943, and architects Henry Hansen and Guido Widmann were later brought in to restore the theatre in 1952-1953.
Trams in Kiel
The Kiel tramway network once formed part of the public transport system in Kiel, now in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Opened in 1881, the network lasted until 1985.
