Gewandhaus
Gewandhaus is a concert hall in Leipzig, Germany, the home of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra. Today's hall is the third to bear this name; like the second, it is noted for its fine acoustics. The first Gewandhaus was built in 1781 by architect Johann Carl Friedrich Dauthe. The second opened on 11 December 1884, and was destroyed in the fire-bombings of World War II between 1943 and 1944.
Leipzig Central Station
Leipzig Central Station (Leipzig Hauptbahnhof) is, at 83,460 m², the world's largest railway station when measured by floor area. It has 24 platforms housed in six iron trainsheds; a multi-level concourse with towering stone arches; and a 293 metre-long facade. It handles an average of 120,000 passengers per day. The station was opened in 1915 as a joint terminal for the Royal Saxon State Railways and the Prussian state railways.

It is the oldest botanical garden in Germany and among the oldest in the world, and open daily without charge. Paulinerkirche, Leipzig
The Paulinerkirche was a church on the Augustusplatz in Leipzig, named after the "Pauliner", its original Dominican friars. It was built in 1231 as the Klosterkirche St. Pauli for the Dominican monastery in Leipzig. From the foundation of the University of Leipzig in 1409, it served as the university church. After the Protestant Reformation it was donated to the university and was inaugurated in 1545 by Martin Luther as the Universitätskirche St.
Augustusplatz
The Augustusplatz is a square located at the east end of the city centre of Leipzig. It is the city's largest square and one of the largest (and, prior to almost all its buildings being destroyed in bombing in the Second World War, the most beautiful) squares in Europe. It is also part of the city's inner-city ring-road and a central hub for its tram network.

Seehausen, Leipzig
Seehausen is a northern district of Leipzig. In its district lies the new fairgrounds for the city. Including its villages and hamlets, Seehausen has 1967 residents (1997). The district includes the village with the land on which the new Leipzig fairgrounds and exhibition grounds are located (known as Sachsenpark), and the hamlets of Göbschelwitz, Hohenheida, Gottscheina and Neblitz.

The Leipzig Museum of Ethnography (German: Museum für Völkerkunde zu Leipzig) is a large ethnographic museum in Leipzig, Germany. Today it is part of the Grassi Museum, an institution which also includes the Museum of Applied Arts and the Museum of Musical Instruments, based in a large building on the Johannisplatz. The Leipzig Museum of Ethnography is one of three museums in the Saxonian State Ethnographical Collections which belong to the Dresden State Art Collections.

It is located on Johannisplatz, near the city centre. The museum belongs to the University of Leipzig and is also part of the Grassi Museum, whose other members are the Museum of Ethnography and the Museum of Applied Arts. It is one of the largest music instrument museums in Europe, alongside those of Brussels and of Paris.

The Grassi Museum is a building complex in Leipzig, Germany, home to three museums: the Ethnography Museum, Musical Instruments Museum, and Applied Arts Museum. It is sometimes known as the "Museums in the Grassi", or as the "New" Grassi Museum (to distinguish it from the older building with this name, now home to the municipal library).
Hugo Schneider AG
Hugo Schneider AG (HASAG) was a small German metal goods manufacturer founded in 1863. Based in Leipzig, it grew from a small business making lamps and other small metal products by hand into a large factory and publicly traded company that sold its wares in several countries around the world. During the First World War, it began making armaments, supplementing the loss of business caused by the war, a decision that ultimately increased the company's profitability.

It is the second oldest museum of decorative arts in the country, founded just six years after the Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin. Today it is part of the Grassi Museum, an institution which also includes the Museum of Ethnography and the Museum of Musical Instruments, based in a large building on the Johannisplatz.
Leipzig City Tunnel
The City Tunnel is a railway tunnel under construction for the city-centre S-Bahn in Leipzig with two tunnels with one track in each direction. It will link the Central Station with the two km distant Bayerischer Bahnhof (which is closed for the construction period). Construction began in July 2003. In March 2008, the first tube was structurally completed, the second in October 2008. The tunnel for the trains should be ready for the timetable change in December 2013.
Friedenspark
Friedenspark is a graveyard and park in the city of Leipzig, in Germany. Before 1970, the park was known as Neuer Johannisfriedhof. A number of significant people from the area are buried there.
