Dresden Suspension Railway

The Dresden Suspension Railway is one of the oldest suspension railways — a kind of hanging monorail — in the world, having opened in 1901. It is situated in Dresden, Germany, and connects the districts of Loschwitz and Oberloschwitz (Rochwitz side). The line is 274 metres long and is supported on 33 pillars. It was designed by Eugen Langen, who earlier designed the Wuppertal Suspension Railway, a more extensive suspension railway in Wuppertal.

Dresden Funicular Railway

The Dresden Funicular Railway is a funicular in Dresden, Germany connecting the districts of Loschwitz, near the "Blue Wonder" bridge, and Weisser Hirsch. The railway was opened on October 26, 1895, and was run by a steam engine until 1910; since then it has run on electricity. The railway is one of two funicular railways in Dresden, the other being the unusual Schwebebahn Dresden, a suspended monorail.

Großer Garten

The Großer Garten is a baroque style park in Dresden. It is oblong in shape and covers an area of about 2 km² in a central location of the city. Established in 1676, it has been a public garden since 1814. Pathways and avenues are arranged symmetrically throughout its area. A central feature of the park is the Sommerpalais. Established outside the old walls of the city, the park was encompassed by the significant growth of the urban area in the second half of the 19th century.

Heinz-Steyer-Stadion

Johannstadt Neustadt Ferry

The Johannstadt Neustadt Ferry is a passenger ferry across the Elbe river in Germany. It crosses between the districts of Johannstadt and Neustadt in the city of Dresden. Dresden Zoo

Glücksgas Stadium

Glücksgas Stadium is a football stadium in Dresden, Saxony. It is the current home of Dynamo Dresden. The facility had previously been known as the Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion, but in December 2010, the naming rights were sold to Glücksgas, a Bavarian energy company. Sports facilities have existed on the physical site of the stadium since 1874, and the site noted an attendance of 270,000 people during the 1885 festival.

Schloss Albrechtsberg (Dresden)

Trinitatiskirche (Dresden)

The Trinitatiskirche (Trinity Church) was a church building dedicated to the Holy Trinity in the Johannstadt district of Dresden. It was built from 1891 to 1893. The bombing raids of February 1945 completely burned down its aisle, badly damaged the main walls and parish hall, slightly damaged the bell tower and completely destroyed the roof and interior. The debris began to be removed in 1945 and the tower provisionally repaired in 1950.

Kreuzschule

The Kreuzschule in Dresden, (also known by its Latin name schola crucis) is the oldest surviving school in Dresden and one of the oldest in Germany. As early as 1300, a schoolmaster (Cunradus puerorum rector) was mentioned. It was founded as a grammar school for the singers of the capella sanctae crucis, now the Dresdner Kreuzchor. The school is now a Protestant Gymnasium, officially called Evangelisches Kreuzgymnasium.
