Köthen (district)
Köthen was a district (Kreis) in the middle of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Neighboring districts were (from north clockwise) Anhalt-Zerbst, Schönebeck, Anhalt-Zerbst, the district-free city Dessau, Bitterfeld, Saalkreis and Bernburg.
Johann Friedrich Naumann
Johann Friedrich Naumann (14 February 1780 – 15 August 1857) was a German scientist, engraver and editor. He is regarded as the founder of scientific ornithology in Europe. He published The Natural History of German Birds (1820–1844) and The Eggs of German Birds (1818–1828). His father Johann Andreas Naumann (1744–1826) was a naturalist and his brother Carl Andreas Naumann (1786–1854) was also an ornithologist.

Halle concentration camp
The Halle concentration camp was a Nazi Germany Buchenwald subcamp that provided forced labor for the Siebel aircraft manufacturer in July 1944 under agreement with the SS-Wirtschafts-Verwaltungshauptamt (SS-WVHA). Laborers were also provided to the "Bauleitung Professor Doktor Ingenieur Rimpl, Kostenstell B-XII". At a cost of six/four Reichsmarks per day, skilled/unskilled laborers were used in the metalworking department to construct parts for airplane wings.

Bach House (Köthen)
For other similarly-named houses, see Bach House (disambiguation). The composer Johann Sebastian Bach lived at two addresses during his stay in Köthen. As one of the properties has been demolished, Bach House normally refers to the house which is still standing and which the composer occupied in the period 1719-23. This property on Wallstraße (Wall Street) was completed in 1719 and Bach is assumed to have been the first tenant.

Halle State Museum of Prehistory
The State Museum of Prehistory (Landesmuseum für Vorgeschichte) in Halle (Saale) is the archaeological museum of the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. Founded in Naumburg in 1819, it was moved to Halle in 1825, and within Halle to its present location in 1918. Its collection, comprising more than 15 million items, is among the most extensive and important in Germany. Among its most famous exhibits are the Nebra sky disk, the Eulau family graves and the Hornhausen rider stele.
Petersberg, Halle
The Petersberg, at 250.4 m above sea level, is the highest point in the district of Saalekreis in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. Its name is derived from St. Peter's Church which is on the hill. Until the 14th century the Petersberg was known as the Lauterberg.
