Gröningen Priory

Gröningen Priory (Kloster Gröningen) was a house of the Benedictine Order located west of Gröningen in Saxony-Anhalt in Germany. The monastery was founded in 936 from Corvey Abbey, of which it was a priory, on initiative of Saxon Count Siegfried of Merseburg and his second wife Guthia (Jutta) upon the death of King Henry I. It became part of the Bishopric of Halberstadt and was finally dissolved in 1550 in the course of the Protestant Reformation.

Motorsport Arena Oschersleben

The Motorsport Arena Oschersleben is 3.667 kilometres long race track with a width of 11–13 meters and elevation changes of 23 metres. Hohes Holz

The Hohes Holz is the only large wooded area in the otherwise open, agriculturally intensively-farmed western part of the Magdeburg Börde in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. The region forms the southern part of a ridge that runs from the Lappwald in the north to the Bodeknie near Oschersleben (Bode). This ridge is bordered in the northeast by the Upper Aller. Three of the Aller's source streams rise on the northern slopes of the Hohes Holz.

Lappwald

The Lappwald is a heavily wooded range of hills, 20 km long and up to 5 km wide, in central Germany. It stretches northwards from the town of Helmstedt. The border between Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt runs through the woods, of which about three quarters is on Lower Saxon terrain. The Lappwald is part of the Elm-Lappwald Nature Park.

2011 Saxony-Anhalt train collision

The 2011 Saxony-Anhalt train collision occurred on 29 January 2011, when a freight train and a passenger train collided near Hordorf in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany on the Magdeburg–Thale line. The passenger train derailed in the collision. Ten people were killed and 43 people were injured, some of them critically. Initial reports of 33 injured persons were later corrected to 43 (18 critical, 25 non-critical).

The Türkentor (Turks' Gate) is a triumphal arch and gateway in Helmstedt in Lower Saxony in Germany. The main entrance to the former St. Ludger's Abbey and a gateway to the Domänenhof, the arch was built in 1716 to celebrate the victory over the Ottomans by Prince Eugene of Savoy at the Battle of Petrovaradin earlier that year, in which Ferdinand Albert II, Duke of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel and Johann Matthias von der Schulenburg had also been instrumental.

Daneil's Cave, also called Robber's Cave (Räuberhöhle) is located on the northern side of the Huy ridge in the district of Harz in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt.
