Düsseldorf-Hassels
Hassels is an urban borough of Düsseldorf. Its original name was "Hasselholt" what means hazelnut wood in older German language. In the 17th century only the first part of the name survived. Hassels belonged to the Knights of Eller. Later Hassels became part of the office of mayor of Benrath. In 1929 Hassels became - together with Benrath - part of Düsseldorf. Large settlements were built in Hassels in the 1920s, the 1950s and in the 1970s. The old church from the 17th century no longer exists.
Düsseldorf-Reisholz
Reisholz is an urban borough of Düsseldorf. It is located in the south of the city, bordering Holthausen, Benrath, Hassels and the river Rhine. Reisholz is an industrial part of the city. Its history started in 1905 by creation of a harbour to the Rhine, a goods station and an industrial area by the Industrie-Terrains Düsseldorf-Reisholz (IDR) company. Many chemical factories, engine building industries, paper mills, petrochemical manufacturers and an oil refinery went to Reisholz.
Düsseldorf-Vennhausen
Vennhausen is an urban borough of Düsseldorf. It borders on Unterbach, Eller and Gerresheim. Vennhausen became a settlement much later than its neighbouring bouroughs, starting in the Tannenhof. In 1809 Vennhausen became a part of the communal district of Gerresheim due to the Napoleonic area reforms at that time.
Düsseldorf-Unterbach
Unterbach was a local borough of Erkrath, Germany, until 1975, when it became an urban borough of Düsseldorf in a local reorganisation. A portion of the pre-1975 Unterbach remains as the borough of Erkrath-Unterfeldhaus. The eastern end of the borough of Düsseldorf-Vennhausen was attached to Unterbach during the reorganisation since it was already culturally associated with Unterbach.
