Berg (state)

Schloss Benrath
Schloss Benrath is a Rococo maison de plaisance near Düsseldorf, Germany, erected for the Elector Palatine Charles Theodore by his garden and building director and garden supervisor, Nicolas de Pigage. It was begun in 1755, and by the time it was completed in 1770, some elements of Neoclassicism were detectable in its interior finishing. Two symmetrical wings flank the central corps de logis. The Museum for European Garden Art was founded in the east wing of Benrath in 2002.

Itter is an urban bourough of Düsseldorf. It is located near to the river Rhine, adjacent to Himmelgeist, Holthausen and Reisholz. Its name comes from the small river called the Itter.
Düsseldorf-Hassels
Hassels is an urban borough of Düsseldorf. Its original name was "Hasselholt" what means hazelnut wood in older German language. In the 17th century only the first part of the name survived. Hassels belonged to the Knights of Eller. Later Hassels became part of the office of mayor of Benrath. In 1929 Hassels became - together with Benrath - part of Düsseldorf. Large settlements were built in Hassels in the 1920s, the 1950s and in the 1970s. The old church from the 17th century no longer exists.
Düsseldorf-Holthausen
Holthausen is an urban borough of Düsseldorf. It is located south of Oberbilk, west of Reisholz, north of Benrath and east of Itter and Himmelgeist. An natural border is the river Rhine. Holthausen's history is connected to the history of Itter, Himmelgeist, Benrath, Wersten and Bilk. Until the 18th century its name was Langenweyer. First settlements in that area are form the 9th century before Christ, with countinous settlements existing since the 2nd century after Christ.
Düsseldorf-Reisholz
Reisholz is an urban borough of Düsseldorf. It is located in the south of the city, bordering Holthausen, Benrath, Hassels and the river Rhine. Reisholz is an industrial part of the city. Its history started in 1905 by creation of a harbour to the Rhine, a goods station and an industrial area by the Industrie-Terrains Düsseldorf-Reisholz (IDR) company. Many chemical factories, engine building industries, paper mills, petrochemical manufacturers and an oil refinery went to Reisholz.
Düsseldorf-Vennhausen
Vennhausen is an urban borough of Düsseldorf. It borders on Unterbach, Eller and Gerresheim. A few hundred years ago the area was swamp, moor and fen, hence the name for the settlement Vennhausen, which is derived from "Venn", a Low German word for fen. Vennhausen became a settlement much later than its neighbouring bouroughs, starting in the Tannenhof. In 1809 Vennhausen became a part of the communal district of Gerresheim due to the Napoleonic area reforms at that time.
Düsseldorf-Lierenfeld
Lierenfeld is an urban borough of Düsseldorf. It borders on Eller, Oberbilk, Flingern and Wersten. Lierenfeld was a conglomerate of homesteads when it became a part of Düsseldorf in 1384. For a long while Lierenfeld had an agricultural character. It changed in the time of the Industrial Revolution. It became mainly an industrial district. In the 1920s the city of Düsseldorf tried to develop it to a nicer living area with a garden settlement. But Lierenfeld is mainly still an industrial area.
Düsseldorf-Unterbach
Unterbach was a local borough of Erkrath, Germany, until 1975, when it became an urban borough of Düsseldorf in a local reorganisation. A portion of the pre-1975 Unterbach remains as the borough of Erkrath-Unterfeldhaus. The eastern end of the borough of Düsseldorf-Vennhausen was attached to Unterbach during the reorganisation since it was already culturally associated with Unterbach.
Reisholz Rhine Powerline Crossing
Reisholz Rhine Powerline Crossing is a powerline crossing of Rhine River in Düsseldorf south of Holthausen substation, which was built in 1917 and originally part of the 110 kV-line between Reisholz Power Station and Goldenberg Power Station. This line was the first 110 kV-powerline of RWE. Later the line was transformed into a 220 kV line with 12 conductors arranged in 4 levels in an unusual double danube pylon mode.

It is located at Universitätsstraße 1, Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, and open daily in the warmer months; admission is free.
District 9, Düsseldorf
District 9 is a southern city district of Düsseldorf, the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The district covers an area of 36,59 square kilometres and (as of December 2009) has about 89,000 inhabitants. The district borders with the Düsseldorf districts 3 and 8 to the North, and 10 to the South. To the East and West the district borders with the rural districts of Kreis Mettmann and Rhein-Kreis Neuss respectively.
Düsseldorf-Gerresheim station
Düsseldorf-Gerresheim station is a through station in the district of Gerresheim in the city of Düsseldorf in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The station was opened along with the Düsseldorf–Elberfeld railway from Düsseldorf to Erkrath by the Düsseldorf-Elberfeld Railway Company on 20 December 1838. It has two platform tracks and it is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 5 station.

It is on the Cologne–Duisburg line, and is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 3 station. In addition, Düsseldorf Benrath station is served by two Regional-Express services, several city bus services and a tram line and a Stadtbahn line. Benrath is the busiest station after Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof in Düsseldorf with about 25,000–30,000 daily entries and exits.

Mickeln House
Mickeln House is a manor house in Düsseldorf's Himmelgeist neighbourhood. It was erected in 1843 on the site of Haus Mickeln, which went back to 1210. As that building was destroyed in a fire in 1836, Herzog Ludwig von Arenberg used an insurance payment to have renowned architect, Josef Niehaus, rebuild the manor as a summer residence. Niehaus used engravings of villas built in the 16th century by Galeazzo Alessi as a template. The manor has a square plan, each side measuring 19.55 metres.
