The Bielefeld Stadtbahn is a public Stadtbahn (tramway or light railway in the German city of Bielefeld. It includes segments built to rapid transit standards, usually as part of a process of conversion to a metro railway). It is operated by moBiel, a subsidiary of the Bielefeld municipal authority (Stadtwerke). The old tram network was rebuilt into a Stadtbahn between 1978 and 1991, with a fourth line built to the university area in 2002.
