Dortmund–Ems Canal
The Dortmund–Ems Canal is a 269 km long canal in Germany between the inland port of the city of Dortmund and the sea port of Emden. The artificial southern part of the canal ends after 215 km at the lock of Herbrum near Meppen. From there, the route goes over a length of 45 km over the river Ems until the lock of Oldersum. There, the canal continues with a further artificial part of 9 km.

TU Dortmund University (German: Technische Universität Dortmund) is a university in Dortmund, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany with over 20,000 students, and over 3,000 staff. It is situated in the Ruhr area, the fourth largest urban area in Europe. The university is highly ranked in terms of its research performance in the areas of physics, electrical engineering, chemistry and economics.
Dortmund Port
Construction on Dortmund's port which terminates the Dortmund-Ems Canal connecting Dortmund to the North Sea started in 1895. It was opened 1899 by Kaiser Wilhelm. At the beginning of the 20th century it was mainly used for the import and export of wheat, coal and ore. The port was expanded in the 1920s and 1930s by adding new docks as well as on the administrative infrastructure (Dortmunder Hafenamt).

Dortmund Central Station
Dortmund Central Station (Dortmund Hauptbahnhof) is the central station for the city of Dortmund in Germany. The station's origins lie in a joint station of the Köln-Mindener Eisenbahn and Bergisch-Märkische Eisenbahn which was built north of the city centre in 1847. That station was replaced by a new station, erected in 1910 at the current site. It featured raised embankments to allow a better flow of traffic. At the time of its opening, it was one of the largest stations in Germany.

Zollern II/IV Colliery
The Zeche Zollern II/IV is located in the northwestern suburb of Bövinghausen of Dortmund, Germany. The Gelsenkirchener Bergwerks-AG projected Zollern in 1898 as a model colliery. Ground up construction began in 1898 on a new site. Most of the buildings of the colliery were built in solid brickwork by the architect Paul Knobbe and were completed in 1904 with the central engine house, in which the most up-to-date generators and machinery used in the colliery were housed.

Opernhaus Dortmund
Opernhaus Dortmund (Dortmund Opera House) is the opera house of Dortmund, Germany, which opened in 1966 and is formally operated by the Theater Dortmund organisation. This is the second opera house to exist in Dortmund, the first one having been built in 1904, but it was destroyed during World War I. The 1966 opera house was designed by architects Heinrich Rosskotten and Edgar Tritthart.
Dortberghaus
Dortberghaus is a listed building in the Dortmund city center. The Dortberghaus emerged in the years 1937-1938 after the plans of the Cologne architect Emil Rudolf Mewes as an administrative building of the Gelsenkirchen Mining-AG. The building is close to the Dortmund main train station. The Gelsenkirchen mine-AG wrote in 1936 opened an architectural competition for the construction of the building; Emil Rudolf Mewes won.
Adler Apotheke (Dortmund)
The Adler Apotheke, in Dortmund, is the oldest existing pharmacy in its original location in North Rhine-Westphalia. The pharmacy is located in a historic building at the Adler Alter Markt in the heart of downtown Dortmund . It is first documented in 1392 and was owned by the same family for over 500 years. In the cellar buildings of today's pharmacy is now a pharmacy museum. Here can be found almost 100 square metres of exhibition pieces including an equipment room, laboratory and store rooms.

The Museum für Kunst und Kulturgeschichte or MKK (Museum of Art and Cultural History) is a municipal museum in Dortmund, Germany. It is currently located in an Art Deco building which was formerly the Dortmund Savings Bank. The collection includes paintings, sculptures, furniture and applied art, illustrating the cultural history of Dortmund from early times to the 20th century.

Dortmund-Dorstfeld is a railway station situated in Dortmund in western Germany. It is served by the S1, S2 and S4 lines of Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn. It has an important role as an interchange point since the trains of the S4 line do not serve Dortmund Hauptbahnhof. Therefore, departure times of the S2 and S4 lines are coordinated in order to allow interchange on shared platforms for each destination.

Dortmund-Mengede station
Dortmund-Mengede station is located in the Dortmund suburb of Mengede in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The station was opened in 1848 as part of the trunk line of the former Cologne-Minden Railway Company. Mengede station is used by a range of passenger services and includes an area to the north-west of the passenger station that is used for shunting and freight. Four tracks are available for passenger operations.
