Heide Park

The Heide Park Resort is a theme park in Soltau, Lower Saxony, Germany. With an overall area of over 850,000 m² (210 acres), it is one of the biggest German amusement parks and the biggest in Northern Germany. Colossos (Heide Park)

Colossos is a wooden roller coaster at Heide Park in Soltau, Lower Saxony, Germany. It is the first wooden roller coaster to use prefabricated track. Colossos is currently the tallest wooden roller coaster in the world. Colossos is very different from a traditional wooden roller coaster because it is prefabricated. Instead of trackers cutting, shaping, and laying down the track by hand, the track is laser cut in a factory, achieving a higher degree of precision than could ever be done by hand.

Scream (Heide Park)

The Gyro-Drop Tower Scream is an amusement ride in the Heide Park, Soltau, Germany. With a height of 103 metres to the pinnacle it is the tallest "gyro drop" free-fall ride in the world. Scream was constructed of the observation tower II of Heide Park, which was built in 1992 and was then called 'Gyrotower'. This modification was accomplished by a company called Intamin between October 2002 and April 2003 at a cost of €7.5 million. The inauguration took place on 24 April 2003.

Snow Dome, Bispingen

The Snow Dome is an indoor ski slope at Bispingen in the German state of Lower Saxony. It was opened on 21 October 2006. The piste has a length of about 300 m, height about 78 m, and a width of up to 100 m . On the snow area of about 23,000 m, in addition to the downhill piste is a Funpark, a toboggan run and a beginner's slope. The incline varies between 20% at the top and 9% at the bottom.

The Wietze is a river, 29 kilometres long, in the South Lüneburg Heath, in Lower Saxony, Germany. The river rises east of the Soltau suburb of Moide and flows from there in a southerly direction to Wietzendorf. Here it is joined by the only tributary of any size, the Aue. The Aue has two source streams: the Hötzinger Aue, which rises north of Stübeckshorn, 98 m above sea level and the Alvernsche Aue, that has its source northwest of Alvern, 86 m above sea level.
