Celle (district)
Celle is a district (Landkreis) in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is bounded by (from the north and clockwise) the districts of Uelzen, Gifhorn, Hanover and Heidekreis.
Telemax
"Telemax" is also the name of a television network in Mexico. For that article, see Telemax (television network). The Telemax is a telecommunication tower built from 1988 to 1992 in Hanover. The tower was designed by Hans U. Boeckler and is 272 metres (892 feet) high. The tower stands on a 10 metre high base building, which brings its overall height to 282 metres (925 feet). Deutsche Telekom operates the tower. There is no observation deck on the Telemax.
Ahlten
Ahlten is a village in northern Germany with a population of around 5400. It belongs to the administrative district of the city of Lehrte, five kilometres east. Both towns are part of the multitown region "Region Hanover" with its own administration. Ahlten is 10 km east of the City of Hannover which is the capital town of the federal state "Niedersachsen" (Lower Saxony). Ahlten is since the 1920s the site of a large substation.
Fuhse
The Fuhse is a stream of Lower Saxony, Germany, a left tributary of the Aller. Spelled Fuse in maps of the 19th century and earlier, the name is thought to derive from the ancient Fosa flumen, after which the Germanic tribe of the Fosi took their name (or vice versa). The Fuhse originates on the west slope of the Oderwald, foothills of the Harz range between Bad Harzburg und Wolfenbüttel. The source spring lies in the municipality of Flöthe near Schladen.
Max Planck Institute of Experimental Endocrinology
The Max Planck Institute of Experimental Endocrinology, located in Hannover, Germany, was one of 80 institutes in the Max Planck Society (Max-Planck-Gesellschaft). It was founded 1979 to supersede the Max Planck Institute of Cell Biology in Wilhelmshaven. Molecular developmental biology and neuroendocrinology were the two research areas of the institute.
Battle of Sievershausen
The Battle of Sievershausen occurred on 9 July 1553 in Sievershausen, between the Catholic Imperial troops and those of the Protestant Schmalkaldic League. 4,000 soldiers were killed, including the Protestant commander, Maurice, Elector of Saxony. The Catholic retreat was covered by General Joachim von Röbel, who became famous as a result and ended his days as a field-marshal.

RAF Celle
The former Royal Air Force Station Celle, more commonly known as RAF Celle, was a Royal Air Force station, a military airbase, in Germany, situated in the south-western suburbs of Celle, Lower Saxony. RAF Celle was also known as "Wietzenbruch airbase", named after the close-by district Wietzenbruch. On 11 April 1945 the airfield surrendered and was handed over to the British Army by a German NCO without having suffered any serious damage during World War II.
Celle Castle
Celle Castle or, less commonly, Celle Palace, in the German town of Celle in Lower Saxony was one of the residences of the House of Brunswick-Lüneburg. This four-winged building is the largest castle in the southern Lüneburg Heath region.
Circular rampart of Burg
The circular rampart of Burg is a defensive work from the Early Middle Ages period located near the German town of Celle in Lower Saxony. The site, dating roughly to the 10th century and located in an inaccessible area of marsh by the River Fuhse, probably acted as a refuge for the local population. Today this 3 metre high circular embankment belongs to one of the most important Early Middle Age historical monuments in Celle.
Schlosstheater Celle
The Castle Theatre in Celle is the court theatre which was established between 1670 and 1674/75 on the initiative of the opera lover, George William (1624-1705), Prince of Lüneburg from the House of Brunswick and Lüneburg, as part of the refurbishment and baroque restyling of Celle Castle.
French Garden, Celle
The French Garden in Celle is a public park in the south of the historic old town or Altstadt. On both sides of a straight avenue of lime trees forming its east-west axis are flowerbeds, lawns, copses and a pond with a fountain. Its current appearance is no longer that of a true French Garden, but rather that of an English Garden.

The Heil- und Giftpflanzengarten der Tierärztlichen Hochschule Hannover (5000 m²) is a botanical garden specializing in medicinal and poisonous plants. It is maintained by the Tierärztlichen Hochschule Hannover, and located on campus at Bünteweg 17D, Hanover, Lower Saxony, Germany. The garden contains over 300 taxa of medicinal and poisonous plants, with nearly 100 information displays describing their appearance, preparation, and effects.
German Oil Museum
The German Oil Museum (German: Deutsches Erdölmuseum Wietze) is located in Wietze, a small village west of Celle in Lower Saxony.
Celle State Stud
Celle State Stud is a state-owned facility for horse breeding in Celle, Germany. The State Stud of Celle, located in what is now known as Lower Saxony, was founded in 1735 by order of George II, King of Great Britain, Elector of Hanover and Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg. Its purpose was to make high-quality stallions available to local breeders. Several wars affected not only the safety of the horses, but the types of stallions housed there.
St Ludwig's Church, Celle
St. Ludwig ("St Louis") is the main Catholic church in the town of Celle in the German state of Lower Saxony. It was consecrated in 1838 and was the third catholic parish church of the new diocese of Hildesheim which was authorised by papal bull and was outside of the former bishopric of Hildesheim and Archbishopric of Mainz. It followed in the footsteps of the first two churches: St Clemens in Hanover and St Michael in Göttingen. Its jurisdiction extends as far as the North Sea coast.
Rudolf-Kalweit-Stadion
The Rudolf-Kalweit-Stadion is an association football and rugby union stadium in Hanover, Germany. It is the home ground and owned by the football team Arminia Hannover and also frequently used for international games of the Germany national rugby union team. Additionally, the American football team Hannover Spartans also uses the ground.
