Chris Gueffroy (June 21, 1968, Pasewalk, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern – February 6, 1989) was the last person to be shot while trying to escape to West Berlin across the Berlin Wall. Treptower Park

Badeschiff

The Badeschiff (in English, "bathing ship") is a floating public swimming pool in Berlin, the capital city of Germany. Situated in the East Harbour section of the River Spree, the Badeschiff allows citizens to swim in a sanitary environment near the river. The Spree itself is far too polluted to permit safe bathing. The Badeschiff opened in the summer of 2004 as an art project organized by the Stadtkunstprojekte (City Art Project Society) of Berlin.

Sonnenallee (Berlin)

The Sonnenallee is a street in Berlin, Germany, connecting the districts of Neukölln and Treptow-Köpenick. The street is 5 km long, crossing Baumschulenstraße at its south east end and terminating at Hermannplatz in the north west. Sonnenallee was constructed at the end of the 19th century. The area around the Sonnenallee was created to cater for the rural drift to the city of that period.

Archenhold Observatory

The Archenhold Observatory, named in honor of Friedrich Simon Archenhold, is an observatory in Berlin-Treptow. It was opened to the public on 1 May 1896 as the Treptow Observatory to coincide with the Great Industrial Exposition of Berlin. Based on Archenhold's design it contained what was then the world's longest telescope, with a focal length of 21 meters. The Observatory was named after Archenhold at its 50th anniversary in 1946.

Neukölln Ship Canal

It connects with the Landwehr Canal at its northern end, and with the Teltow Canal and the Britz Canal at its southern end.
