Wannsee Conference
The Wannsee Conference was a meeting of senior officials of the Nazi German regime, held in the Berlin suburb of Wannsee on 20 January 1942. The purpose of the conference was to inform administrative leaders of Departments responsible for various policies relating to Jews that Reinhard Heydrich had been appointed as the chief executor of the "Final solution to the Jewish question".

The school was established 1990 in Potsdam, Germany, but is now located in Kleinmachnow, between Berlin and Potsdam, 17 kilometres to Berlin and 20 kilometres to Potsdam. Liebermann Villa
The Liebermann Villa is the former summer residence of the German painter Max Liebermann. It is located directly at the shores of Lake Wannsee in Berlin. It has been open to public since April 30, 2006 and shows a collection of Liebermanns' paintings of his villa and its garden.
Verein Seglerhaus am Wannsee
The Verein Seglerhaus am Wannsee (VSaW) is the second oldest yacht club in Germany after Segelclub RHE. It is located on the shores of the Greater Wannsee lake, southwest of Berlin. The club has mooring space for 250 yachts. It organizes yearly regatta series with both domestic and international participation. Together with the Yacht Club of Kiel, the Norddeutscher Regattaverein and the Hamburger Sailing Club, the Verein Seglerhaus am Wannsee organizes the Kiel Week.

Checkpoint Bravo
Checkpoint Bravo ("Checkpoint B") was the name given by the Western Allies to the main autobahn border crossing points between West Berlin and the German Democratic Republic It was known in German as Grenzübergangsstelle Drewitz-Dreilinden. Drewitz is a community nearby, and Dreilinden is the name of the wooded area in Berlin through which the highway passes.
Schlachtensee
Schlachtensee is a lake in the south west of Berlin, in the Steglitz-Zehlendorf borough, on the edge of the Grunewald forest. The lake lends its name to the surrounding area and to the nearby Studentendorf Schlachtensee, a student residence. The area has been part of Berlin since 1920.
Grunewald (forest)
Grunewald is a German forest located in the western side of Berlin on the east side of the Havel, mainly in the Grunewald locality. At 3,000 hectares it is the largest green area in the city of Berlin.
Schlachtensee Student Village
Studentendorf Schlachtensee (Schlachtensee Student Village) is a student accommodation complex located in south-west Berlin, in the Schlachtensee area of the Steglitz-Zehlendorf borough of the city. It was constructed between 1959 and 1964 to provide accommodation to student of the new Free University of Berlin, and was opened in 1959 by Willy Brandt, Mayor of West Berlin. The project was financed through a gift from the United States government.
Krumme Lanke
Krumme Lanke is a lake in the south west of Berlin, in the Steglitz-Zehlendorf borough of the city and on the edge of the Grunewald forest. After Nikolassee and the neighbouring Schlachtensee, it is the southernmost of the Grunewald chain of lakes. To the north east, the Riemeistersee flows into the Riemeisterfenn nature reserve, the Langes Luch nature reserve, the Grunewaldsee and ultimately the Hundekehlesee.
Schwanenwerder
Schwanenwerder is an island in the Havel river in Berlin, Germany. It is in the locality of Nikolassee in the borough of Steglitz-Zehlendorf, and is located in a wider stretch of the river, close to the eastern shore. On the opposite side, on the western bank, lies Kladow, to the south, the Wannsee. Schwanenwerder is an expensive residential area, despite a summer camp for children being located on the island.
Strandbad Wannsee
The Strandbad Wannsee is an open-air lido on the eastern shore of the Wannsee in Berlin, Germany, the largest inland lido in Europe, with a beach that is 1,275 metres long and 80 metres wide, widened with sand from the German shore of the Baltic Sea. The entire ensemble is listed as Cultural Heritage site. It is located on the eastern shore of the lake in the locality of Wannsee, in Steglitz-Zehlendorf borough, in southwestern Berlin.

Centre for Modern Oriental Studies
The Centre for Modern Oriental Studies (Zentrum Moderner Orient, ZMO) is a German research institute in Berlin. The researchers focus on comparative study of the Middle East, Africa, South and Southeast Asia from a historical and social scientific perspective. Current research topics focus on predominantly Muslim societies and relations with non-Muslim neighbours. The ZMO was founded in 1996.
