Spandau Prison
Spandau Prison was a prison situated in the borough of Spandau in western Berlin, constructed in 1876 and demolished in 1987 after the death of its last prisoner, Rudolf Hess, to prevent it from becoming a neo-Nazi shrine.
Spree
The Spree is a river that flows through the Saxony, Brandenburg and Berlin states of Germany, and in the Ústí nad Labem region of the Czech Republic. It is a left bank tributary of the River Havel and is approximately 400 kilometres in length. The reach of the river between the Dämeritzsee and Müggelsee to the east of Berlin is known as the Müggelspree.
Spandau Citadel
The Spandau Citadel is a fortress in Berlin, Germany, one of the best-preserved Renaissance military structures of Europe. Built from 1559–94 atop a medieval fort on an island created by the meeting of the Havel and the Spree, it was designed to protect the town of Spandau, which is now part of Berlin. In recent years it has been used as a museum and has become a popular tourist spot.
Rathaus Spandau (Berlin U-Bahn)
Rathaus Spandau is one of the terminals of the Berlin U-Bahn line U7 (the other one being Rudow). It was opened on 1 October 1984 with the line's extension from Rohrdamm to Rathaus Spandau. The station takes its name from the nearby Rathaus Spandau, the historic city hall of Spandau. Close to the U-Bahn station Rathaus Spandau is the Berlin-Spandau railway station of the Berlin S-Bahn line S75 and the Deutsche Bahn for regional and intercity transport.
Altstadt Spandau (Berlin U-Bahn)
Altstadt Spandau is a station in the Spandau district of Berlin, on that city's U-Bahn line U7. It takes its name from the Altstadt Spandau, the historic central area of the former independent city of Spandau. The station was opened on 1 October 1984 (architect R.G. Rümmler) with the line's extension from Rohrdamm to Rathaus Spandau. It lies between Rathaus Spandau and Zitadelle stations. The next station is Zitadelle.
Zitadelle (Berlin U-Bahn)
Zitadelle is a station on the Berlin U-Bahn line U7. It was opened on 1 October 1984 with the line's extension from Rohrdamm to Rathaus Spandau. Its name means "Citadel" in English and it was named for the historic Spandau Citadel. Unlike most u-bahn stations, Zitadelle has side platforms. The station's interiors were also designed to resemble the citadel's style. It lies between the stations Altstadt Spandau and Haselhorst. It was built/opened by R.G.
RAF Gatow
Known for most of its operational life as Royal Air Force Station Gatow, or more commonly RAF Gatow, this former British Royal Air Force military airbase is in the district of Gatow in south-western Berlin, west of the Havel river, in the borough of Spandau. It was the base for the only known operational use of flying boats in central Europe, and was later used for photographic reconnaissance missions by de Havilland Chipmunks over East Germany.

Transmitter Stallupöner Allee, Berlin
The Transmitter Stallupöner Allee, Berlin is a transmission site for medium wave radio broadcasts situated on the Stallupöner Allee ("Stallupone Avenue") in Berlin-Charlottenburg, Germany. This transmission site was established in 1948. It uses as aerial a 130 metre high guyed steel framework mast with triangular section, which is insulated against ground. Until 1998 there was a second insulated guyed steel framework mast on the site.
Bell Tower of Berlin Olympic Stadium
The Bell Tower of Berlin Olympic Stadium was a 77 metres high observation tower that was built in 1934 after plans by professor Werner March. The steel skeleton construction was covered with limestone plates. After the Second World War the Soviet troops accidentally set the tower's contents on fire and it was no longer stable. Therefore the British engineers blew it up in 1947.
Altstadt Spandau
Altstadt Spandau is the historic centre (the old city) of the borough (Bezirk) of Spandau in the western suburbs of Berlin, the capital city of Germany. It is one of the four zones of the locality (Ortsteil) of Spandau. The Altstadt is situated on the west bank of the River Havel by its confluence with the River Spree. It was protected from attack by the Spandau Citadel, on an island between the two rivers.

The Militärhistorisches Museum der Bundeswehr - Flugplatz Berlin-Gatow (Bundeswehr Museum of Military History - Berlin-Gatow Airfield; formally known as Luftwaffenmuseum der Bundeswehr), is the Berlin branch of the Militärhistorisches Museum der Bundeswehr. The museum acts as an independent military department. Entrance to the museum is free. The museum is in Berlin at a former Luftwaffe and Royal Air Force (RAF) airfield, RAF Gatow.

Berlin 1939-1945 Commonwealth War Graves Commission Cemetery
The Berlin 1939-1945 Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemetery is one of two Commonwealth cemeteries in Berlin, the other being the World War I Berlin South-Western Cemetery in Stahnsdorf, Brandenburg. The Berlin 1939-1945 Commonwealth Cemetery was established in 1945 as a central burial ground for aircrew and prisoners of war who were interred in the Berlin area and in East Germany. There are also 260 burials from the post-war British Occupation Authorities staff, or their relatives.
Berlin-Stresow railway station
Stresow is a railway station in the Spandau district of Berlin, named after the Stresow neighbourhood east of the Havel river. It is served by the S-Bahn line S5. The station opened on December 15, 1846 at the railway line from Berlin's Hamburger Bahnhof to the city of Hamburg. Then the main station in the area, it bore the name Spandau.

1948 Gatow air disaster
The 1948 Gatow air disaster occurred on Monday 5 April 1948 when a British European Airways Vickers VC.1B Viking airliner crashed near RAF Gatow, Berlin, Germany after a mid-air collision with a Soviet Air Force Yakovlev Yak-3 fighter. All ten passengers and four crew on board the Viking were killed, as was the Soviet pilot. The disaster resulted in a diplomatic standoff between the United Kingdom, the United States and the Soviet Union and intensified distrust during the Berlin Blockade.
Neu-Jerusalem
The Siedlung Neu-Jerusalem (New Jerusalem settlement) is a residential complex along federal route No. 5, here named Heerstraße, in the locality of Staaken, part of Berlin's Borough of Spandau. The Deutsche Gartenstadt Gesellschaft commissioned Erwin Gutkind (German), who designed between 1923 and 1924 following the style of New Objectivity the plans for the complex, which was completed until 1925.

Rathaus Spandau
The Rathaus Spandau is the town hall of the borough of Spandau in the western suburbs of Berlin, the capital city of Germany. It was designed by Heinrich Reinhardt and Georg Süßenguth, and was built between 1910 and 1913. Until 1920, when Spandau was incorporated into Greater Berlin, it was the city hall of the independent city of Spandau. The Rathaus Spandau is situated on Carl-Schurz-Straße at the southern edge of the Altstadt Spandau.
Wilhelmstraße (Spandau)
The Wilhelmstraße in the Berliner district of Spandau is the connecting street between Spandau and Potsdam. In the north, at Seeburger Straße and the Ziegelhof, the Wilhelmstraße runs into the Klosterstraße, about a kilometre south of Spandau Station. It crosses the Heerstraße and from there on it is also the Bundesstraße 2. At its southern end, at the „Seeburger Zipfel“ at Karolinenhöhe the Wilhelmstraße runs into the Potsdamer Chaussee.
Heerstraße (Berlin)
The Heerstraße runs from Theodor-Heuss-Platz in Berlin-Charlottenburg until the western city border of Berlin in the locality of Staaken in the borough of Spandau. In its intire length it is part of the Bundesstraße 5; from Theodor-Heuss-Platz to Wilhelmstraße it is also Bundesstraße 2. With its length of about 10 kilometres, it is one of the longest streets in Berlin and an important commuter route.
Britannia Centre Spandau
The former Britannia Centre Spandau, before known as British Forces Families Centre (BFFC), was built in 1990 by PSA for the British Authorities on the site where Spandau Prison used to be located. It centralised the main shopping, welfare, employment and broadcasting facilities for the British military community in Berlin. The Britannia Centre consisted of a new shopping and cinema complex and five existing and completely refurbished two and three-storey buildings.
Charlotten Bridge
Charlotten Bridge (German Charlottenbrücke) in Spandau links the old town of Spandau on the west bank of the Havel with the east bank. It was one of the few bridges over which some of the German garrison of Berlin were able to escape during the night of 1 May 1945 just hours before the city fell to Soviet forces.
