It opened on 21 December 1930 as the terminus of Berlin's new eastern U-Bahn line from Alexanderplatz, then called Line E. Alfred Grenander designed its stations in a uniform style. Friedrichsfelde is distinguished by its blue colours - formerly wall tiles, since a 2004 restoration enamel panels.

Tierpark is a Berlin U-Bahn station located on the U5. It is named after the Tierpark Berlin, one of the two zoological gardens in Berlin. The station opened in 1973 and was the eastern terminus of (what is now) line U5 until 1988. It was the one and only subway station that was built by the East German government. Producers were the VEB Kombinat Tiefbau Berlin.

The Tierpark Berlin is one of two zoos located in Berlin, Germany. It was founded in 1955 and is located in Friedrichsfelde on the former grounds of Friedrichsfelde Palace, which is situated within the zoo. As of 31 December 2012 (2012-12-31), the zoo houses 7,359 animals from 861 species, in an area of 160 hectares . Tierpark Berlin also features two public exhibits which are free of charge, including the Bärenschaufenster (Bear Show Window) which currently houses American black bears.

Köpenick Palace
Schloss Köpenick is a Baroque palace of the Hohenzollern electors of Brandenburg which stands on an island in the Dahme River and gives its name to Köpenick, a district of Berlin. The castle was originally built in 1558 as a hunting lodge by order of Elector Joachim II Hector of Brandenburg. The building in a Renaissance style was located on the river island at the site of the former medieval fort. Joachim II died here in 1571.

The Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts (Hochschule für Schauspielkunst „Ernst Busch“, HFS), based in the Niederschöneweide district of Berlin, Germany, was founded in 1951 as the National Theatre School in Berlin with the status of college. In 1981 it was granted university status, and a year later was renamed after the singer and actor Ernst Busch.
