Operation Gold

Johannisthal Air Field
The Johannisthal Air Field, located 15 km southeast of Berlin, between Johannisthal and Adlershof, was Germany's first airfield. It opened on 26 September 1909, a few weeks after the world's first airfield at Rheims, France.

Köpenick Palace
Schloss Köpenick is a Baroque palace of the Hohenzollern electors of Brandenburg which stands on an island in the Dahme River and gives its name to Köpenick, a district of Berlin. The castle was originally built in 1558 as a hunting lodge by order of Elector Joachim II Hector of Brandenburg. The building in a Renaissance style was located on the river island at the site of the former medieval fort. Joachim II died here in 1571.

Oberspree station
Oberspree is a railway station in the Treptow-Köpenick district of Berlin on the Schöneweide–Spindlersfeld branch line. It is served by the S-Bahn line S47. Oberspree station is located approximately halfway along the line where it crosses the Oberspreestraße. It was opened for passenger traffic on 1 April 1892. The station was initially built next to a railway crossing with a central platform. The station building was located on Bruno-Bürgel-Weg parallel with the line.
Berlin-Spindlersfeld station
Spindlersfeld is a railway station in the Treptow-Köpenick district of Berlin on the Schöneweide–Spindlersfeld branch line. It is the eastern terminus of the S-Bahn line S47. It is located at the corner of Oberspreestraße and Ernst-Grube-Straße. A two-track development of the station is not in sight; even if the proposed duplication of the whole line goes ahead, the terminus will still have only one track.
Bundesautobahn 117
Bundesautobahn 117 is an autobahn in Germany. The road that would become the A 117 was built in the 1960s as the A 113, intended as a connection from the A 10-A 13 junction in Schönefeld to the Berlin neighborhood of Adlershof. This road's path was similar to all of the A 117's present-day route, then the A 113's route south to the beginning of the A 13. Soon after reunification, a junction was built along the A 113 at Waltersdorf (present-day A 117 junction 2).

In 1981 it was granted university status, and a year later was renamed after the singer and actor Ernst Busch.
