Peace of Passau
Holy Roman Emperor Charles V had won a victory against Protestantism in the Schmalkaldic War of 1547. Many Protestant princes were unhappy with the religious terms of the Augsburg Interim imposed after this victory. In January 1552, led by Maurice of Saxony, many formed an alliance with Henry II of France at the Treaty of Chambord. In return for French funding and assistance, Henry was promised lands in western Germany.

It is the largest railway station serving an airport in Germany with about 23,000 passengers each day. The station is served by 210 daily long-distance trains, of which 185 are Intercity-Expresses.
Nidda (river)
The Nidda is a right tributary of the Main river in Hesse. It springs from the Vogelsberg on the Taufstein mountain range near the town of Schotten, flows through the Niddastausee dam, and the towns of Nidda, Niddatal, Karben, and Bad Vilbel. At Harheim it reaches the Frankfurt am Main city area and after 98 km enters the Main in Frankfurt's Höchst quarter. In the twenties and sixties the flow of the Nidda was regulated to reduce the risk of floods.
Frankfurter Kreuz
The Frankfurter Kreuz is an Autobahn interchange in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, where the autobahns A3 and A5 meet. The interchange was originally to be built from 1931 to 1933, but due to World War II construction was not finished until 1957. It underwent massive remodeling in the 1990s, as it had been frequently overloaded due to excess traffic. Today, both autobahns have ten lanes.

Au the name of a building that has been squatted since June 4, 1983 in Frankfurt, Germany. It bills itself as an "Autonomous Cultural Centre and Living Project". Au was home to the Au Squat Festival on June 3rd, 2006, featuring many punk rock bands such as The Restarts. The 2007 festival was on June 9th with band like Sensa Yuma and the festival 2008 will be on June 7th. Arboretum Main-Taunus
The Arboretum Main-Taunus (76 hectares) is an arboretum located on Am Weissen Stein, just southwest of Eschborn, Hesse, Germany. The arboretum was begun in 1982 on the site of a former military airport, and currently contains over 600 tree and shrub species from around the northern hemisphere, including Central Europe, Asia Minor, the Himalayas, China, Japan, and North America.
Eschborn Airfield
Eschborn Airfield (Fliegerhorst Eschborn) is an abandoned military airfield in Germany located approximately 10 km northwest of Frankfurt am Main (Hessen) and 435 km southwest of Berlin. The airfield was built by the Luftwaffe and opened in the early 1940s. Its primary use was as an interceptor fighter airfield during the Defense of the Reich campaign.

The Squaire
The Squaire is a controversial office building in Frankfurt, Germany. It was built between 2006 and 2011 on top of an existing train station near Frankfurt Airport. The building has has a length of 660 m, a width of 65 m, and a height of 45 m with nine floors. With a total floor area of 140,000 m it is considered to be the largest office building in Germany. The Squaire is directly connected to Terminal 1 of Frankfurt Airport through a connecting corridor for pedestrians.
