Confederation of the Rhine

The Confederation of the Rhine (German: Rheinbund; French: États confédérés du Rhin, officially "Confederated States of the Rhine", but in practice Confédération du Rhin) was a confederation of client states of the First French Empire. The Lessing-Gymnasium is the oldest Gymnasium in Frankfurt am Main. It was founded in 1519 by the city council. The first foreign languages are Latin and English starting in 5th grade. In the 7th grade the pupils have to choose between French or Ancient Greek. The school also has got a variety of the fine arts: It has got several orchestras and choirs. Some famous people connected to the school are Georg Philipp Telemann, Georg Friedrich Grotefend, Peter Stein and Eva Demski.

Grüneburgpark

The Grüneburgpark is a park in the Westend district of Frankfurt, whose name derives from the "Green castle", which stood on the site in the 14th century. Frankfurt American High School

One of DoDDS original six high schools in Germany, the school served the children of American military, government and civilian personnel from 1946 until its closing in 1995. Heiligenstock transmitter

Heiligenstock Transmitter, also known as the Heiligenstock Radio Tower, was a wooden German lattice transmitter that was used for mediumwave broadcasting. The tower was built in the year 1934 but was dismantled four years later because of its bad state. The tower was then rebuilt the same year it was dismantled in the city of Frankfurt. The newly rebuilt radio tower was then demolished in March 25th, 1945 during the second world war by the retreating German troops using explosives.

Holzhausenschlösschen
