The Eurovision Song Contest 1957 was the 2nd Eurovision Song Contest and was held on March 3, 1957 in Frankfurt-am-Main. Like the first contest, this one was still mainly a radio programme, but there was a noticeable increase in the number of people with televisions. Staufenmauer

The Staufenmauer was an old city wall of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It was built in 1180 under the Hohenstaufen rule to protect the city from attack and surround the present Altstadt. When the city was expanded in 1333, the old wall became a victim of efforts to reorganize the city defenses. Today one can still see a small portion along the Fahrgasse, a part that was restored after the 18th century fire in the Jewish Ghetto.

Frankfurter Judengasse

The Frankfurter Judengasse was the Jewish ghetto of Frankfurt and one of the earliest ghettos in Germany. It existed from 1462 until 1796 and was home to Germany's largest Jewish community in early modern times. At the end of the 19th century, most of the buildings in the Judengasse were demolished. The area suffered major destruction during World War II and reconstruction left no visible signs of the ghetto in today's townscape of Frankfurt.

Frankfurt Zoological Garden

The Frankfurt Zoological Garden is the zoo of Frankfurt, Germany. It features over 5,000 animals of more than 600 species on more than 13 hectares. The zoo was founded in 1858 and is the second oldest Zoo in Germany. It lies in the eastern part of the Innenstadt (inner city). Former director of the zoo was Bernhard Grzimek. European Central Bank Headquarters

Holy Cross Church, Frankfurt-Bornheim

The Holy Cross Church is a Roman Catholic church in the district Bornheim of Frankfurt am Main. It was built by Martin Weber from 1928 to 1929, on a rise then known as Bornheimer Hang. The church is an unusual example of interwar modernist as sacred architecture of Bauhaus architecture. The church was finally completed on 25 August 1929 and handed to the Catholic congregation of Bornheim. It was damaged in the Second World War, and afterwards rebuilt with money donated for the purpose.

Frankfurt (Main) Mühlberg station is an underground Rhine-Main S-Bahn station on the Frankfurt City Tunnel in the Frankfurt district of Sachsenhausen in the German state of Hesse. The station is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 4 station. It was opened with the eastern part of the City Tunnel (which is called the Frankfurt–Mühlberg tunnel), which was opened in 1992 as the last section of the City Tunnel. It consists of two tracks on either side of an island platform.

Heiligenstock transmitter

Heiligenstock Transmitter, also known as the Heiligenstock Radio Tower, was a wooden German lattice transmitter that was used for mediumwave broadcasting. The tower was built in the year 1934 but was dismantled four years later because of its bad state. The tower was then rebuilt the same year it was dismantled in the city of Frankfurt. The newly rebuilt radio tower was then demolished in March 25th, 1945 during the second world war by the retreating German troops using explosives.
