Bergstraße (district)
Bergstraße ("Mountain Road") is a Kreis in the south of Hesse, Germany. Neighboring districts are Groß-Gerau, Darmstadt-Dieburg, Odenwaldkreis, Rhein-Neckar-Kreis, the urban district Mannheim, the Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis, and the urban district of Worms. Kreis Bergstraße belongs both to the Rhine Neckar Area and the Rhein-Main Region.

The instruments at the observatory consists of: 0.45m newtonian 0.30m Meade LX200 0.20m refractor 0.15m refractor 0.10m refractor 0.19m flat-field camera 0.14m schmidt camera The observatory was the venue for the 1997 and 2003 meetings of the European Radio Astronomy Congress.
Auerbach Castle
Auerbach Castle is one of several dramatic fortresses along the Bergstrasse in southern Hesse, Germany. The castle was originally built by King Charlemagne, Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, and then re-built by Count Diether IV of the Katzenelnbogen dynasty in the second quarter of the 13th century and stands prominently on a hill known as Urberg, an arm of Melibokus mountain, above the town of Bensheim-Auerbach.

The Vorderrhein is one of the two sources of the Rhine. Its catchment area of 1,512 square kilometres is located predominantly in the Canton of Graubünden. The Vorderrhein is about 76 kilometres long, thus more than 5% longer than the Hinterrhein (each measured to the farthest source). The Vorderrhein, however, has an average water flow of 53.8 m/s, which is less than the flow of the Hinterrhein.

At 21% red grape varieties and 79% white varieties, it is planted with primarily Riesling (48% as of 2008) and Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir, 10%).

Nibelungensteig
The Nibelungensteig is a hiking trail in the Odenwald, a mountain range in the southern part of Hesse, Germany. The trail starts in Zwingenberg (Bergstraße) and ends in Freudenberg (Main). However, the trail can be hiked in both directions. Either way, one has to travel its 124 kilometers length and overcome 4,000 meters of altitude. The Nibelungensteig leads mostly over naturally made paths.

Odenwaldschule
Odenwaldschule, is a German school located in Heppenheim in the Odenwald. Founded in 1910, it is Germany's oldest landschulheim, a private boarding school located in a rural setting. Edith and Paul Geheeb established it using their concept of progressive education, which integrated the work of the head and hand. The school was run by Minna Specht from 1946 to 1951.
Bensheim station
Bensheim station is in the town of Bensheim on the Main-Neckar Railway, connecting Frankfurt and Heidelberg, in the German state of Hesse. The station is also the beginning and end of the single-track non-electrified Worms–Bensheim line. 114 trains stop at Bensheim station every day, of which about one-third are long-distance services. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 3 station. Bensheim station is protected as a cultural monument under the Hessian heritage legislation.
Schloss Heiligenberg (Jugenheim)
Schloss Heiligenberg is a castle to the east of Jugenheim, part of Seeheim-Jugenheim, about 12 kilometres to the south of Darmstadt. It is built on the Heiligenberg, with panoramic views of the Rhineland as far as the Palatinate. It is now the headquarters of the Amtes für Lehrerbildung, though its 'Gartensaal' is occasionally used for concerts and art exhibitions.
