Barnim
Barnim is a district in Brandenburg, Germany. It is bounded by (from the east and clockwise) Poland, the district of Märkisch-Oderland, the city state of Berlin and the districts of Oberhavel and Uckermark.
Eberswalde
Eberswalde is a major town and the administrative seat of the district Barnim in the German Federal State of Brandenburg, about 50 km northeast of Berlin. Population 42144 (census in June 2005), geographical location {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:52|50|N|13|50|E||| | |name= }}. The town is often called Waldstadt (forest town), because of the large forests around it, including the Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve.
Oder–Havel Canal
The Oder–Havel Canal is a German canal built between 1908 and 1914, originally known as the Hohenzollern Canal. Together with Hohensaaten-Friedrichsthaler Wasserstraße, the Oderhaltung and the Schwedter Querfahrt it forms the Havel-Oder-Wasserstraße. It runs from the town of Cedynia near the city of Szczecin on the Oder River between Germany and Poland to the Havel, a tributary of the Elbe, near Berlin. It is 82.8 kilometres long, and 33 metres wide.
Experimental Radio Station Eberswalde
The Experimental Radio Station Eberswalde was an experimental radio station of the company Carl Lorenz founded in Eberswalde, Germany in 1909. It used an umbrella aerial, which was carried at a 70 metres high, guyed central mast and at the corners on 16 30 metres high timber masts, as antenna system. The central mast was a wood-latticed mast with a weight of 10,2 tons, guyed in 5 levels. As transmitters arc and machine transmitters were used, which served mainly for the purpose of telegraphy.

The Niederfinow Boat Lift is the oldest working boat lift in Germany. It lies on the Oder-Havel Canal near Niederfinow in Brandenburg. The lift overcomes a difference in elevation of 36 metres.

Forstbotanischer Garten Eberswalde
The Forstbotanischer Garten Eberswalde (8 hectares) is a botanical garden and arboretum located at Am Zainhammer 5, Eberswalde, Brandenburg, Germany. It is open daily without charge. The garden was established in 1830 as part of the Royal Prussian Higher Forestry College by Friedrich Wilhelm Leopold Pfeil (1783-1859) with Wilhelm von Humboldt (1767-1835). By 1835 its plant list included more than 600 types of trees.

Swiss International Airlines Flight 850
Swiss International Air Lines Flight 850 (LX 850) was an international scheduled passenger flight from Basle, Switzerland, to Hamburg, Germany. On 10 July 2002, the flight was unable to land at Fuhlsbüttel Airport due to weather. Attempts were made to divert to other airports at Berlin and Eberswalde before the crew decided to land at Werneuchen. On landing, the aircraft struck an earth bank which ripped off all three undercarriage legs, and came to rest on its belly with an engine on fire.
Eberswalde Central Station
Eberswalde Central Station (Eberswalde Hauptbahnhof) is historically the most important and now the only remaining station in the city of Eberswalde in the German state of Brandenburg. It was opened in the summer of 1842 outside the then city limits on the Berlin–Szczecin railway. The city fathers of Eberswalde did not want a modern railway in their city, so the station was built three kilometres west of the city centre in a wooded area where the Westend district is today.
