Bavarian Soviet Republic
The Bavarian Soviet Republic, also known as the Munich Soviet Republic (German: Bayerische Räterepublik or Münchner Räterepublik) was, as part of the German Revolution of 1918–1919, the short-lived attempt to establish a socialist state in the form of a democratic workers' council republic in the Free State of Bavaria. It sought independence from the also recently proclaimed Weimar Republic. Its capital was Munich.
Bavaria statue
Bavaria is the name given to a monumental, bronze sand-cast 19th-century statue in Munich, southern Germany. It is a female personification of the Bavarian homeland, and by extension its strength and glory. The statue is part of an ensemble which also includes a hall of fame and a stairway. It was commissioned by Ludwig I of Bavaria, with the specific design being chosen by competition. It was cast at the Munich foundry of J.B.

1960 Munich Convair 340 crash
On 17 December 1960, a Convair C-131D Samaritan operated by the United States Air Force crashed on a flight from Munich, Germany to RAF Northolt, west London, United Kingdom shortly after take-off from Munich-Riem Airport due to fuel contamination. All 20 passengers and crew on board as well as 32 people on the ground were killed.
Theresienwiese
Theresienwiese is an open space in the Munich borough of Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt. It serves as the official ground of the Munich Oktoberfest. A space of 420,000 square metres, it is bordered in the west by the Bavaria statue, symbolizing the State of Bavaria, and in the east by Esperantoplatz, a square named for the international language Esperanto. There, a memorial commemorates the victims of the 1980 Oktoberfest bombing. Bavariaring, an orbital road, provides access to visiting traffic.

It is one of the three long distance train stations in Munich, the others being München-Pasing and München Ost. The station sees about 350,000 passengers a day, which puts it on par with other large stations in Germany, such as Hamburg and Frankfurt. The mainline station is a terminal station, the subterranean S-Bahn and U-Bahn stations are through stations.

Goetheplatz (Munich U-Bahn)
Goetheplatz is an U-Bahn station in Munich on the U3 and U6. The stations decor is similar to that of the U3/U6 platform at Sendlinger Tor, but its history is much older than that. Originally it was constructed between 1938-1941 as part of a planned North-South S-Bahn network in Munich, which was abandoned due to the war effort. For this reason, the platform is 135 meters long, significantly longer than that of any other U-Bahn station (usually about 120 meters).
Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest is a 16-day festival celebrating beer held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, running from late September to the first weekend in October. It is one of the most famous events in Germany and is the world's largest fair, with more than 6 million people from around the world attending the event every year. To the locals, it is not called Oktoberfest, but "die Wiesn" - after the colloquial name of the fairgrounds themselves.
Sendlinger Tor (Munich U-Bahn)
Sendlinger Tor is an U-Bahn station in the city center of Munich at a junction of the lines U1/2/7 and U3/6 line of the Munich U-Bahn system. It was opened on 19 October 1971 (upper level, U3 and U6) and 18 October 1980 (lower level, U1, U2 and U7). Above ground, the station is served by routes Munich tramway, Munich tramway, Munich tramway and Munich tramway of the Munich tramway.
München Süd station
München Süd (Munich South station) is a disused railway station and a railway goods station in the Munich borough of Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt. Train service stopped on July 1, 1985, the last buildings were demolished in 2005 to make room for office buildings. The station is located on the Südring railway line, connecting Munich Central Station with Munich East. The public transport is now handled by Poccistraße Munich U-Bahn station, located to the west of the old railway station.
München Isartal station

Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt
Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt is one of the boroughs of Munich. It consists of the districts Ludwigsvorstadt, located south of Munich Hauptbahnhof and east of the Theresienwiese, and Isarvorstadt, which is situated north-west of the River Isar and southeast of Munich's Old Town. The Lindwurmstraße serves as a divider for the two districts.
St. Stephan's Church (Munich)
St. Stephan is a former cemetery church of the old South Cemetery in Munich, southern Germany. The church is located at the northern end of the Southern Cemetery, directly to Stephan Street, near the Sendlinger Tor Place. It is the chapel of the parish church of St. Peter. Ruhmeshalle (Munich)

The Ruhmeshalle is a Doric colonnade with a main range and two wings, designed by Leo von Klenze for Ludwig I of Bavaria. It is situated on an ancient ledge above the Theresienwiese in Munich and was built as part of a complex which also includes the Bavariapark and the Bavaria statue. It is built of Kelheim limestone and is 68 metres long and 32 metres deep.
