Biberach (district)
Biberach is a district in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is bounded by (from the south and clockwise) the districts of Ravensburg, Sigmaringen, Reutlingen and Alb-Donau, and the Bavarian districts Neu-Ulm, Unterallgäu and the district-free city Memmingen. The major towns in the district of Biberach are Biberach an der Riss, Riedlingen, Ochsenhausen and Laupheim.

The Pestalozzi-Gymnasium in Biberach an der Riß, Baden-Württemberg, Germany is a Gymnasium (high school) founded in 1860. In 2005 it has some 1,250 students and 100 teachers. The school was founded by Fortunée Niederer, a student of Swiss educationalist Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi, and was originally named the Paritätische private Töchterschule ("Equal participation private daughters' school").
Riss (river)
The Riss is a small river in Baden-Württemberg, south-western Germany, right tributary of the Danube. Its source is in Upper Swabia, between Bad Waldsee and Bad Schussenried. It flows north, through the town of Biberach an der Riss. It then flows into the Danube one mile north of Riβtissen between Ehingen and Erbach, approximately 20 km upstream from Ulm. Its total length is approximately 50 km. The Riss gave its name to the Riss glaciation, an ice age.
