Karlsruhe
Karlsruhe (formerly Carlsruhe) is a city in the state of Baden-Württemberg, in southwest Germany, near the Franco-German border. Karlsruhe Palace was built in 1715 and the town is now the seat of two of the highest courts in Germany, the Federal Constitutional Court and the Federal Court of Justice. It has been speculated that Karlsruhe was a model for Washington, D.C. as both cities have a centre from which the streets radiate outward.
Federal Court of Justice of Germany
The Federal Court of Justice of Germany in Karlsruhe is the highest court in the system of ordinary jurisdiction (ordentliche Gerichtsbarkeit) in Germany. It is the supreme court (court of last resort) in all matters of criminal and private law. A decision handed down by the BGH can only be reversed by the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany in rare cases when the Constitutional Court rules on constitutionality (compatibility with the Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany).
Wildparkstadion
The Wildparkstadion is a football stadium located in Karlsruhe, Germany. It is the home of the football club Karlsruher SC. It is located northeast of the Karlsruhe castle (Schloss) and is located in part of the former deer park (Wildpark) of the Grand Dukes of Baden in the Hardtwald, hence the name. There have been soccer fields here since 1922, and the stadium was built in 1955, with several major renovations since.
Karlsruhe Institute of Technology
The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is one of the largest and most prestigious research and education institutions in Germany, resulting from a merger of the university (Universität Karlsruhe) and the research center (Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe) of the city of Karlsruhe. The university, also known as Fridericiana, was founded in 1825. In 2009, it merged with the former national nuclear research center founded in 1956 as the Kernforschungszentrum Karlsruhe (KfK).

It was erected in the years 1823–1825 over the vault of the city's founder, Margrave Charles III William (1679–1738). The pyramid is regarded as Karlsruhe's second emblem, the city's absolutist layout in the shape of a folding fan being the first. The pyramid's central location was originally occupied by the Lutheran Concord Church, a Baroque timber-framed building.

Federal Constitutional Court of Germany
The Federal Constitutional Court is a supreme constitutional court established by the constitution or Basic Law of Germany. Since its inception with the beginning of the Federal Republic of Germany, the court has been located in the city of Karlsruhe—intentionally distanced from the other federal institutions in Berlin and other cities. The main task of the court is judicial review, and it may declare legislation unconstitutional, thus rendering them ineffective.
