Council of Constance
The Council of Constance is the 16th ecumenical council recognized by the Roman Catholic Church, held from 1414 to 1418. The council ended the Three-Popes Controversy, by deposing or accepting the resignation of the remaining Papal claimants and electing Pope Martin V. The Council also condemned and executed Jan Hus and ruled on issues of national sovereignty, the rights of pagans, and just war in response to a conflict between the Kingdom of Poland and the Order of the Teutonic Knights.
Mainau
is an island in Lake Constance. It is maintained as a garden island and a model of excellent environmental practices. Administratively, the island has been a part of Konstanz since December 1, 1971, when the municipality of Litzelstetten, of which Mainau was part, was incorporated into Konstanz. Mainau is still part of Litzelstetten, now one of 15 wards (administrative subdivisions) of Konstanz.
Girsberg Tunnel
The Girsberg Tunnel is a motorway tunnel in Switzerland, and forms part of the A7 motorway from Winterthur to Kreuzlingen and the border to Germany. The tunnel is around 1.8 km long. It lies in the northeastern part of the canton of Thurgau. The tunnel essentially winds its way down a hill in a clockwise direction (heading into Kreuzlingen). Despite all this winding, there is no actual difficulty in driving through the tunnel.
Imperia (statue)
The Imperia is a statue at the entrance of the harbour of Konstanz, Germany, commemorating the Council of Constance that took place there between 1414 and 1418. The concrete statue is 9 metres high, weighs 18 tonnes, and stands on a pedestal that rotates around its axis once every four minutes. It was created by Peter Lenk and erected in 1993. The Imperia shows a woman holding two men on her hands. The two men represent Pope Martin V and Emperor Sigismund.
University of Konstanz
The University of Konstanz is a university in the city of Konstanz in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It was founded in 1966, and the main campus on the Gießberg was opened in 1972. The University is situated on the shore of Lake Constance just four kilometers from the Swiss border. As one of eleven German Excellence Universities, University of Konstanz is consistently ranked among the global top 200 by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (194th as of 2011).

Bodensee Arena
Bodensee Arena is an arena in Kreuzlingen, Switzerland. It is primarily used for ice hockey and is the home arena of HC Thurgau and EHC Kreuzlingen-Konstanz. Bodensee Arena opened in 2000 and holds 4,000 people.

Kreuzlingen Abbey
Kreuzlingen Abbey (Stift Kreuzlingen or Kloster Kreuzlingen), in Kreuzlingen in Switzerland, on the border with Germany, was founded in about 1125 by Ulrich I of Dillingen, Bishop of Constance, as a house of Augustinian Canons. In 1848 the government of the Canton of Thurgau dissolved the monastery and took over its property. The former abbey church of Saint Ulrich and Saint Afra, decorated in the Baroque style, is noteworthy.
Dippishausen
Dippishausen is a village in the district of Kreuzlingen in the canton of Thurgau, Switzerland. It was first recorded in 1192 as Tibinshusen. Dippishausen is located in the former municipality Dippishausen-Oftershausen. In 1984 Dippishausen-Oftershausen municipality was incorporated into its neighboring municipality Siegershausen, which in turn merged with its neighbors in 1996 to form a new and larger municipality Kemmental.

Bätershausen is located in the former municipality Dippishausen-Oftershausen. In 1984 Dippishausen-Oftershausen municipality was incorporated into its neighboring municipality Siegershausen, which in turn merged with its neighbors in 1996 to form a new and larger municipality Kemmental.

Oberhofen bei Kreuzlingen is a village and former municipality in the canton of Thurgau, Switzerland. In 1998 the municipality was merged with the neighboring municipality Illighausen to form a new and larger municipality Lengwil.

The Alexander-von-Humboldt-Gymnasium (English: Alexander von Humboldt Gymnasium) is a Gymnasium in Konstanz, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The eponym is Alexander von Humboldt (1769–1859). The school has approximately 82 teachers and 985 students.
Botanical Garden of the University of Konstanz
The Botanischer Garten der Universität Konstanz (1.5 hectares) is a botanical garden maintained by the University of Konstanz. It is located about 250 meters northwest of the campus north parking lot in Konstanz, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, and open weekdays without charge. The garden was begun in 1972, with its first greenhouses completed in 1982. Additional greenhouses were added in 1993, and in 1997 its outdoor garden was redesigned and replanted.

The Hochschule Konstanz (Hochschule Konstanz für Technik, Wirtschaft und Gestaltung), is a German university based in Konstanz, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, in southern Germany close to the border with Switzerland. The University is member of Internationale Bodensee-Hochschule (International Lake Constance University). The Hochschule Konstanz plays a significant role among German Universities of Applied Sciences. It is internationally well known for its outstanding achievements.
Seerhein
The Seerhein ("Lake Rhine") is a river about four kilometres long, in the basin of Lake Constance. It is the outflow of the Upper Lake Constance and the main tributary of the Lower Lake Constance. The water level of the lower lake is about 30 cm below the level of the Upper Lake. It is considered part of the Rhine, which flows into Lake Constance as the Alpine Rhine and flows out of the Lake as the High Rhine. The Seerhein arose after the last Ice Age (the Würm glaciation, about 9650 BCE).
Konstanz station
Konstanz station is the largest passenger station in the German city of Konstanz. It is served by regional and long distance services operated by Deutsche Bahn and Swiss Federal Railways. It is the end of the Upper Rhine Railway and the beginning of the Etzwilen–Konstanz line.
Paradies (Constance)
Paradies is a former village, now a quarter of Konstanz, Germany. The district is located west of the Old Town on the southern shore of the Seerhein; with an area of about 63.2 hectare (632,034 m, to be exact) and 6176 inhabitants (2007 census). In the Late Middle Ages, it was a fishing and farming village called Eggehusen.
Constance Hopper
The Constance Hopper is a bay in Lake Constance, to the east of Constance and north of Kreuzlingen. The leading outflow of the Upper Lake is the Seerhein, which begins in the Constance hopper. The Constance Hopper the only part of the Obersee, where a territorial boundary has been defined by the neighbouring states, in this case, Germany and Switzerland. The Dominicans Island is located in the Constance Hopper. It is part of the city of Constance.
Old Rhine Bridge (Constance)
The Old Rhine Bridge at Constance spans in the Seerhein. It is a combined road and railway bridge. In addition to one track of the Upper Rhine Railway at kilometer 413.5, it carries the Konzilstraße, the road that connects the borough of Petershausen with the city centre. The road bridge carries two lanes into the city center and three lanes in the other direction. Additionally, there is a bicycle lane in both directions on the left (as seen from the city centre) and a sidewalk on the right.
Dominicans Island
The Dominicans Island or Constance Island (German: Dominikanerinsel or Konstanzer Insel) is and island in Lake Constance immediately east of the city of Constance. With an area of 1.8 hectares, it is one of the smaller islands in the lake. The island is separated from the city center by a six metre wide channel, and connected to it by a bridge. The island is dominated by the Steigenberger hotel, which is housed in the former Dominican convent.
