Unité d'Habitation
The Unité d'Habitation is the name of a modernist residential housing design principle developed by Le Corbusier, with the collaboration of painter-architect Nadir Afonso. The concept formed the basis of several housing developments designed by him throughout Europe with this name. The most famous of these developments is located in south Marseille.
Stade Vélodrome
The Stade Vélodrome is a football stadium in Marseille, France. It is home to the Olympique de Marseille football club of Ligue 1, and was a venue in the 1998 FIFA World Cup and the 2007 Rugby World Cup. Before its current renovations, it was the largest club football ground in France, with a capacity of 60,031 spectators; although the current capacity is 42,000 due to the ongoing renovations ahead of UEFA Euro 2016. When the construction is completed, its capacity should be 67,000.
Muséum d'histoire naturelle de Marseille
The Muséum d’histoire naturelle de Marseille or Natural History Museum of Marseille was founded in 1819 by Jean-Baptiste, marquis de Montgrand. It is located in the Palais Longchamp. The museum houses 83,000 zoological specimens d'animaux, 200, 000 botanical specimens, 81,000 fossils, and 8,000 mineral specimens. The four exhibitions areas are la salle Safari -World Fauna- section concentrating on accidental imports through the port.
Canebière
La Canebière is the historic high street in the old quarter of Marseille, France. About a kilometre long, it runs from the Vieux-Port ("old port") to the Réformés quarter. King Alexander I of Yugoslavia was assassinated here on October 9, 1934. French foreign minister Louis Barthou was fatally wounded in the same incident. On October 28, 1938, the Nouvelles Galeries store was destroyed by fire, killing 75.
Open 13
The Open 13 is an annual men's tennis tournament played in Marseille, France. The tournament is an ATP World Tour 250 series event on the Association of Tennis Professionals tour. It is held for one week in February. The number 13 is the INSEE code of the Bouches-du-Rhône département of which Marseille is the capital. The tournament is played on indoor hard courts at the Palais des sports de Marseille. The Centre Court has a capacity of 5800 seats.

The Jardin botanique E.M. Heckel (12,000 m²), also known as the Jardin botanique de Marseille and the Jardin botanique Borély de Marseille, is a municipal botanical garden located in the Parc Borély at 48, Avenue Clot Bey, Marseille, Bouches-du-Rhône, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France. It is open daily except Monday; an admission fee is charged. The garden is Marseille's fourth botanical garden.
Musée Grobet-Labadié
The Musée Grobet-Labadié is a museum in Marseilles, housed in a 19th century hôtel particulier owned by the family whose collection it displays. In 1919 Marie Grobet, daughter of the major Marseilles businessman Alexandre Labadié, gave the family art collection and hôtel particulier to the city.

Description[edit] The eighteen-hectare garden features a large fountain, a canal with twenty-six fountains, and a long paved terrace, which was once a railroad platform. On the south side of the park, there are four separate gardens. -The Provencal garden, laid out on terraces, which contains the examples of the aromatic plants of Provence. -The African Garden, with sand dunes, and a basin of aquatic and semi-aquatic plants.

Baumettes Prison
Baumettes prison (also known as the Centre pénitentiaire de Marseille) is a prison in the 9th arrondissement of Marseille. The prison is named after the district of Les Baumettes where it was constructed between 1933 and 1939. This area was outside the city but has been absorbed as the city expanded. The prison covers some 30,000 m² and contains 1,380 cells housing approximately 1,700 prisoners, mostly men, around a quarter of whom are not French.
Stade de l'Huveaune
Stade de l'Huveaune was a multi-purpose stadium in Marseille, France. It was used mostly for football matches and was the home ground for Olympique de Marseille from 1904 to 1937. The stadium had an eventual capacity of around 15,000 spectators, and the club moved to Stade Vélodrome in 1937.
