Hotel Negresco

Nice Cathedral
Nice Cathedral (French: Basilique-Cathédrale Sainte-Marie et Sainte-Réparate de Nice) is the cathedral of the Diocese of Nice and is located in the old town of Nice in the south of France. It was built between 1650 and 1699, the year of its consecration. It is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and Saint Reparata. It has been classed as a monument historique since 9 August 1906.
Gare de Nice CP
Gare de Nice CP is a small railway station in Nice, France. The station has been the terminus of a narrow-gauge Chemins de Fer de Provence from Digne-les-Bains since December 1991. It is the replacement station of Gare du Sud built in 1890. The old station's state as well as municipal plans meant that repairs were not profitable and the station was bought by the council.
Siege of Nice
The Siege of Nice occurred in 1543 and was part of the Italian War of 1542–46 in which Francis I and Suleiman the Magnificent collaborated in a Franco-Ottoman alliance against the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V, and Henry VIII of England. At that time, Nice was under the control of Charles III, Duke of Savoy, an ally of Charles V. This is part of the 1543-1544 Mediterranean campaign of Barbarossa.

The basilica, built between 1864 and 1868, was designed by Louis Lenormand and is the largest church in Nice, but is not the cathedral. Inspired by Angers Cathedral, it is built in the Gothic style.
