Sainte Jeanne d'Arc Church (Nice)
The Church of Saint Joan of Arc (French: Sainte Jeanne d'Arc) is a Roman Catholic parish church located in Nice, France. Noticeable for its original architecture, the church is dedicated to Joan of Arc. The style of this church is controversial among the inhabitants of Nice, judged ugly by some. The church is sometime nicknamed "the Meringue" for its white color.
Hotel Negresco
The Hotel Negresco on the Promenade des Anglais on the Baie des Anges in Nice, France was named after Henri Negresco (1868–1920) who had the palatial hotel constructed in 1912. In keeping with the conventions of the times, when the Negresco first opened in 1913 its front opened facing the Mediterranean sea. Henri Negresco, born the son of an innkeeper in Bucharest, Romania, left home at the age of 15 going first to Paris then to the French Riviera where he became very successful.

Nice Cathedral
Nice Cathedral (French: Basilique-Cathédrale Sainte-Marie et Sainte-Réparate de Nice) is the cathedral of the Diocese of Nice and is located in the old town of Nice in the south of France. It was built between 1650 and 1699, the year of its consecration. It is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and Saint Reparata. It has been classed as a monument historique since 9 August 1906.
Gare de Nice CP
Gare de Nice CP is a small railway station in Nice, France. The station has been the terminus of a narrow-gauge Chemins de Fer de Provence from Digne-les-Bains since December 1991. It is the replacement station of Gare du Sud built in 1890. The old station's state as well as municipal plans meant that repairs were not profitable and the station was bought by the council.
Siege of Nice
The Siege of Nice occurred in 1543 and was part of the Italian War of 1542–46 in which Francis I and Suleiman the Magnificent collaborated in a Franco-Ottoman alliance against the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V, and Henry VIII of England. At that time, Nice was under the control of Charles III, Duke of Savoy, an ally of Charles V. This is part of the 1543-1544 Mediterranean campaign of Barbarossa.
Opéra de Nice
The Opéra de Nice is the principal opera venue in Nice, France. The théâtre municipal of Nice was inaugurated on 7 February 1885 with a performance of Verdi's Aida. In 1902 the théâtre municipal became the Opéra de Nice.
Notre-Dame de Nice
The Basilica of Notre-Dame de Nice (French: Basilique Notre-Dame de Nice) is a Roman Catholic Neo-Gothic basilica situated on the Avenue Jean-Médecin in the centre of Nice, in France. The basilica, built between 1864 and 1868, was designed by Louis Lenormand and is the largest church in Nice, but is not the cathedral. Inspired by Angers Cathedral, it is built in the Gothic style.
