University of Tampere
The University of Tampere is a university in Tampere, Finland. It has 15,400 degree students and 2,100 employees. It was originally founded in 1925 in Helsinki as a "Civic College" (Kansalaiskorkeakoulu), and from 1930 onwards it was known as a "School of Social Sciences" (Yhteiskunnallinen korkeakoulu). In 1960, the institution relocated to Tampere, and in 1966 it was officially named University of Tampere.

Sauna Open Air Metal Festival
Sauna Open Air Metal Festival, shortly Sauna Open Air or just Sauna, has become one of the largest music festivals dedicated only to metal and related styles of music in the Nordic countries. It is planned to replace the old Tampereen jäähalli. If approved and completed by schedule in 2014, it will have a seating capacity of 10,000 spectators. It will host ice hockey games and will be the home of Ilves and Tappara of the SM-liiga. The project was approved by the Tampere City Council on May 19, 2010.
