Särkänniemi
Särkänniemi is an amusement park in Tampere, Finland. The park features an aquarium, a planetarium, a children's zoo, an art museum, an observation tower, an amusement park, and the world's northernmost dolphinarium. Särkänniemi is the second most popular amusement park in Finland, after Linnanmaki in Helsinki. Särkänniemi has six rollercoasters: inverted coaster Tornado, flying coaster Trombi, MotoGee, Jet Star, Half Pipe, and family coaster Vauhtimato ("Speedy Worm").
Pyhäjärvi (Tampere region)
Pyhäjärvi is a lake in southern Finland. Although the name means in modern Finnish "holy lake", it probably meant originally "border lake". Pyhäjärvi is shaped like the letter "C" with the cities of Tampere and Nokia on the northern end, and town of Lempäälä at the southern end. The lake is fed by the water running through the Tammerkoski rapids in the center of Tampere in the north, and by the waters from lake Vanajavesi in the south.
Moomin Museum
Moomin Valley (Moomin museum) is situated in the city of Tampere, Finland. In the Moomin Valley Museum you can see original illustrations made by Tove Jansson (the creator of Moomins), 40 miniatures, tableaux about Moomin events and a small (2.5 metres high) Moomin House. There is a total of about 2,000 exhibits on display. You can also see the original Moomin Valley multimedia and visit the Moomin Valley shop which sells gift items and Moomin books in many languages.
Battle of Tampere
The Battle of Tampere of the Finnish Civil War was fought in Finland in 1918 between Red and White forces. The White forces besieged and captured the main city of the Red Guards, Tampere, taking around 10,000 Red prisoners. The battle was decisive, and soon afterwards the war was over.
Tampere Stadium
Tampere Ratina Stadium (Finnish: Tampereen stadionilla Ratinassa), simply known as Tampere Stadium or Ratina Stadium, built in 1965, is a multi-purpose stadium in Tampere, Finland, with a seating capacity of 16,800 people, and up to 32,000 people for concerts. The stadium primarily hosts football matches. It served as Tampere United's home stadium and is sometimes used by the Finnish national team.
Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame
The Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame is part of the Vapriikki Museum Centre in Tampere, Finland and was created in 1979 to honor those individuals who have contributed to Finnish ice hockey. The Hall has displays and memorabilia that depict the significant contributions of, coaches, referees and other important figures in the sport. The Hall of Fame also inducts notable players, coaches, referees and other personalities, naming them Suomen Jääkiekkoleijona (hockey lions of Finland).
Tampere Film Festival
The Tampere Film Festival is a short film festival held every March in the Finnish town of Tampere. It is accredited by the film producers' society FIAPF, and together with the short film festivals in Oberhausen and Clermont-Ferrand, it is among the most important European short film festivals. The first festival was held in 1969, and since 1970 it has been held in its current form, which makes it the oldest short film festival in Northern Europe.
Half Pipe (roller coaster)
Half Pipe is a steel launched shuttle roller coaster located at both Elitch Gardens in Denver, Colorado and at Särkänniemi in Tampere, Finland. The structure is 100 feet in height and consists of 230 feet of track. The ride is currently the only ride of its type offered in the United States. Riders are placed in one of two cars on the train which is made to resemble a giant skateboard. Each car is a free-spinning circle that holds eight people.
Sauna Open Air Metal Festival
Sauna Open Air Metal Festival, shortly Sauna Open Air or just Sauna, has become one of the largest music festivals dedicated only to metal and related styles of music in the Nordic countries. It was first arranged in 2004 and takes place in the Ratinanniemi park in Tampere, Finland. On June 8–10 in 2006, over 20,000 metalheads arrived to watch such bands as Cradle of Filth, Finntroll, Iggy & The Stooges, Lordi, Twisted Sister and W.A.S.P..

Pyynikin Kesäteatteri (Pyynikki Summer Theatre) is an open-air theatre operating in Tampere, Finland, known especially for its revolving auditorium. It is one of the largest summer theatres in Finland and has been running uninterrupted longer than any other open-air theatre in the country. The theatre was founded in 1948 and was originally named Tampereen Kesäteatteri (Tampere Summer Theatre).
Tammerkoski
Tammerkoski is a channel of rapids in Tampere, Finland. The city of Tampere is located between two lakes, Näsijärvi and Pyhäjärvi. The difference in altitude between these two is 18 metres and the water flows from Näsijärvi to Pyhäjärvi through the Tammerkoski rapids. The banks of the Tammerkoski are among the oldest industrial areas in Finland.
Lielahti
Lielahti (Lielax in Swedish) is a suburb in the city of Tampere (Tammerfors), Finland with important industrial and commercial facilities. Lielahti was annexed to the city in 1950 from Ylöjärvi parish. Lielahti lies about 7 kilometres west from the city centre. The most prominent sight when arriving Lielahti is maybe the M-real pulp mill, which can sometimes also be sensed nasally.

Tampere Theatre
The Tampere Theatre is one of the two main active theatres in Tampere, Finland, along with the Tampere Workers' Theatre. The theatre was started in 1903. The main location of the Tampere Theatre is located right in the centre of Tampere, opposite the municipality hall on the shore of Tammerkoski. The building was designed in the National Romantic architecture style. The second location, called the Frenckell Hall, is also on the Tammerkoski shore in an old brick building in the Frenckell quarter.
Amuri, Tampere
Amuri is a district in the city of Tampere, Finland. Starting from the 19th century, Amuri was originally mainly a residence area for the workers of the Finlayson factory. It consisted of blocks of wooden houses built together, which were replaced by low-rise apartment buildings in the 1970s and 1980s. The worker apartments in Amuri typically had shared kitchens, with two or four families sharing a kitchen together. One block has been preserved as a museum.

Tampere Central Square
The Tampere Central Square is a public square in the centre of Tampere, Finland, along the main street Hämeenkatu. These include the Tampere City Hall, the Old Church of Tampere and the Tampere Theatre. The Central Square was called Kauppatori ("Market Square") until 1936.

The Tampere City Hall (Tampereen Raatihuone) is a neo-renaissance building in Tampere, Finland, situated at the edge of the Tampere Central Square. The current city hall was built in 1890 and was designed by Georg Schreck. The palacial building has many halls and the city of Tampere holds many events there. During the Great Strike in 1905, the so-called "Red Manifest" was read from the balcony of the Tampere City Hall.

The island is a popular nature resort and an outdoor recreation area, attracting visitors all year round. In the summertime there is a boat connection to the island from the Laukontori harbour. Currently the church belongs to the Evangelist-Lutheran congregations of Tampere, and it is used as a children's road church and a popular church for weddings.
