University of Jyväskylä
The University of Jyväskylä is a university in Jyväskylä, Finland. It has its origins in the first Finnish-speaking teacher training college (the so-called Teacher Seminary), founded in 1863. Around 15,000 students are currently enrolled in the degree programs of the university. It is ranked as the second largest university in Finland when measured according to the number of Master’s degrees conferred.

Korpilahti
Korpilahti is a former municipality of Finland. Together with Jyväskylän maalaiskunta, Korpilahti was consolidated with Jyväskylä on January 1, 2009. It is located in the former province of Western Finland and is part of the Central Finland region. The municipality had a population of 5,016 (2003). In addition to this, there are about 4,500 summer-time inhabitants visiting the 2,000 summer cottages. Korpilahti covered an area of 794.62 km² of which 177.44 km² is water.
Synergia-areena
Synergia-areena is an arena in Jyväskylä, Finland. It is primarily used for ice hockey, and is the home arena of JYP and D Team. The arena originally opened in 1982 and was then known as Jyväskylän jäähalli. It was renovated and renamed in 2008. The capacity of the arena is 4,628 people.

Säynätsalo Town Hall
The Säynätsalo Town Hall is a multifunction building complex – town hall, shops, library and flats – designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto for the municipality of Säynätsalo (merged with the municipality of Jyväskylä in 1993) in Central Finland. Aalto received the commission after a design contest in 1949, and the building was completed in December 1951.
Jyväskylä rail accident
The Jyväskylä rail accident occurred on 6 March 1998 in Jyväskylä, Finland, when the Sr1-driven express train P105 from Turku bound for Joensuu via Pieksämäki derailed. The train left the tracks after coming in too fast on a 35 km/h switch near the station. 300 people were on board (some sources say 500); the fireman driving the train and nine passengers were killed, and 94 passengers injured.
Kuokkala Bridge
Kuokkala Bridge is a bridge in Jyväskylä, Finland over the lake Jyväsjärvi. When the city of Jyväskylä expanded into Kuokkala, the eastern part of the town, it was deemed necessary to link the city centre to the new neighbourhood through a new bridge. During the summer of 1977, three main options were considered: a continuation at the bottom of Vaasankatu to Kylmänoro, and two different paths from the southernmost edge of Lutakko, to Ainola and Peltoniemi.

Kortepohja is a district and a student village in Jyväskylä, Finland. It is located at around 2.5 kilometres from the city centre on the Western side of Lake Tuomiojärvi. Laajavuori Ski Resort and a small neighbourhood of Haukkala are both located on the district. Majority of 6700 people living in the district are inhabitants of the Kortepohja student village. A Child Psychiatric Institute is located in Haukkala.

Taulumäki Church
Taulumäki Church is the principal Lutheran church in Jyväskylä, the administrative centre of the Central Finland region. Designed by architect Elsi Borg (1893–1958), its construction began in 1928. The church was inaugurated on October 27, 1929, and replaces the 1885 church designed by Ludvig Isak Lindqvist, which had burned down on January 27, 1918. The church has frescoes on Biblical themes — Lapsi on meille syntynyt and Se on täytetty — painted by Paavo Leinonen.

Jyväsjärvi
Lake Jyväsjärvi is a lake situated in the centre of Jyväskylä in Finland. The lake can be also considered as the Northern end of Lake Päijänne. Parts of Jyväsjärvi has been filled many times to gain more land for the enlarging city of Jyväskylä. Mattilanniemi and Ylistö, two campuses of the University of Jyväskylä are situated on the Southern shores of the lake. Two bridges are crossing the lake connecting Ylistönrinne and Kuokkala neighbourhoods to the city centre.
Kuokkala, Jyväskylä
Kuokkala is a ward of Jyväskylä, Finland. It contains six districts: Ristonmaa, Kuokkala, Kuokkalanpelto, Ristikivi, Nenäinniemi and Hämeenlahti. As of July 2012, 17.270 people live in Kuokkala. The Kuokkala ward is separated from the Jyväskylä city centre by the Lake Jyväsjärvi and is joined to Lutakko by the Kuokkala Bridge. Additionally, it is delimited by the National road 9 on the west, lake Päijänne on the east and the south, and the Äijälänsalmi strait between the two lakes.

Puistola is a district of Jyväskylä, Finland on the shores of Tourujoki river near the city centre. The city centre of Jyväskylä is bordering Puistola in Southwest. Puistola is located on a small area between the streets of Vapaudenkatu, Väinönkatu, Yliopistonkatu, Puistokatu and Tourujoki river. Puistola is only 800 meters long and about 300 meters wide. Southern part of the district has high population density. The old graveyard of Jyväskylä is in the Northern parts of the district.
