Argir is a village in the Faroe Islands. Once a village south of Tórshavn, Argir has grown and is now merged with Tórshavn.
Kirkjubøargarður
Kirkjubøargarður (Faroese for Yard of Kirkjubøur, also known as King's Farm) is one of the oldest still inhabited wooden houses of the world. The farm itself has always been the largest in the Faroe Islands. The old farmhouse of Kirkjubøur dates back to the 11th century. It was the episcopal residence and seminary of the Diocese of the Faroe Islands, from about 1100.
Argir Stadium
Argir Stadium also called Inni í Vika Stadium is a multi-use stadium on the sport site in Argir, Faroe Islands. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Argja Bóltfelag and Nólsoyar Ítróttarfelag. The stadium holds 2,000 people.
Magnus Cathedral
Magnus Cathedral is a ruined cathedral in the village of Kirkjubøur on the island of Streymoy in the Faroe Islands. It was built in by Bishop Erlendur about the year 1300, but the building was never completed. The cathedral is to this day in an unfinished state; the building has never had a roof. Magnus Cathedral is the largest and most beautiful medieval building in the Faroe Islands.
