Uusküla, Harju County
Uusküla is a village in Jõelähtme Parish, Harju County in northern Estonia. The northern half of the territory of Uusküla is occupied by the Port of Muuga.
Lake Maardu
Lake Maardu (Estonian: Maardu järv; also known earlier as Lake Liivakandi) is a lake on the southern side of the town of Maardu, in northern Estonia. It has an area of 160 ha, max. depth is 3.7 metres and the lake is 33 metres above sea-level. Lake Maardu was a natural waterbody before 1894 when the landowner of Maardu Manor Otto von Brevern dug a ditch to the sea and the lake run empty. It was restored in 1939. Maardu village with Maardu Manor is located on the southeastern side of the lake.
Muuga Harbour
Muuga Harbour is the largest cargo port in Estonia, located on the southern coast of the Gulf of Finland, 13 km northeast of the capital Tallinn, in Maardu. The harbour is administrated by Port of Tallinn, the biggest port authority in Estonia. Muuga Harbour is one of the few ice-free ports in northernmost Europe and among the deepest (up to 18 m) and most modern ports in the Baltic Sea region.
