Alexandria
Alexandria (in Egyptian Arabic) is the second largest city in Egypt, with a population of 4.1 million, extending about 32 km along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea in the north central part of the country. It is also the largest city lying directly on the Mediterranean coast. Alexandria is Egypt's largest seaport, serving approximately 80% of Egypt's imports and exports. It is an important industrial center because of its natural gas and oil pipelines from Suez.
Bibliotheca Alexandrina
The Bibliotheca Alexandrina is a major library and cultural center located on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea in the Egyptian city of Alexandria. It is both a commemoration of the Library of Alexandria that was lost in antiquity, and an attempt to rekindle something of the brilliance that this earlier center of study and erudition represented.

A serapeum is a temple or other religious institution dedicated to the syncretic Hellenistic-Egyptian god Serapis, who combined aspects of Osiris and Apis in a humanized form that was accepted by the Ptolemaic Greeks of Alexandria. Alexandria Stadium
Alexandria Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Alexandria, Egypt. It is currently used mostly for football matches, and was used for the 2006 African Cup of Nations. The stadium is the oldest stadium in Egypt and Africa, being built in 1929. The stadium holds 13,660 people, after the remodelation in 2009.

Eliyahu Hanavi Synagogue (Alexandria)
Eliyahu Hanavi Synagogue is a synagogue in Alexandria, Egypt. It is located in Nabi Daniel street. Built in 1354, it was bombed by the French during their invasion of Egypt in 1798, and was re-built in 1850 with contributions from the Muhammad Ali Dynasty. Although services are still held in the synagogue, it now caters to a very small community due to the dwindling number of Jews in Alexandria. The synagogue will be closed for the 5722 (2012) High Holidays because of security reasons.

The Centre was named after Suzanne Mubarak, wife of former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, who was interested in improving the physical and social well-being of women in Egypt.
Pompey's Pillar (column)
Pompey's Pillar is a Roman triumphal column in Alexandria, Egypt, and the largest of its type constructed outside of the imperial capitals of Rome and Constantinople. The only known free-standing column in Roman Egypt which was not composed of drums, it is one of the largest ancient monoliths and one of the largest monolithic columns ever erected. The monolithic column shaft measures 20.46 m in height with a diameter of 2.71 m at its base.
St. Takla Haymanot's Church (Alexandria)
St. Takla Haymanot's Church is a Coptic Orthodox church in the city of Alexandria, Egypt, located in the district of Ibrahimia near Alexandria Sporting Club. Consecrated on 19 June 1969, it is dedicated to Saint Takla Haymanot, a 13th-century Ethiopian monk. It was visited by Ethiopian patriarch Abune Paulos on 15 July 2007 as part of his landmark trip to Egypt aimed at repairing ties between the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria.

Cecil Hotel (Alexandria)
The 86 room, four-star Cecil Hotel in Alexandria, Egypt, was built in 1929 by the French-Egyptian Jewish Metzger family as a romantic hotel, at Saad Zaghloul square where Cleopatra's needles had been, in front of the Corniche. Author Somerset Maugham stayed here, as did Winston Churchill and Al Capone. Moreover, the British Secret Service maintained a suite for their operations.
Caesareum of Alexandria
The Caesareum in Alexandria was a temple conceived by Cleopatra VII, the last pharaoh of Ancient Egypt, to honour her dead lover Julius Caesar. It was finished by Augustus, after he defeated Antony and Cleopatra. He destroyed all traces of Antony in Alexandria, and apparently dedicated the temple to his own cult. Converted to a Christian church in the late 4th century, the Caesareum was the headquarters of Cyril of Alexandria, the Patriarch of Alexandria from 412 to 444.

It was built under the rule of Muhammed Ali of Egypt as Alexandria was the main naval base for his son Ibrahim Pasha's expedition to Greece during the Greek War of Independence, that culminated in the Battle of Navarino.
