University of Copenhagen
The University of Copenhagen (UCPH) is the oldest and second largest university and research institution in Denmark. Founded in 1479 as a studium generale, it is the second oldest institution for higher education in Scandinavia after Uppsala University (1477). The university has more than 37,000 students, and more than 7,000 employees. The university has several campuses located in and around Copenhagen, with the oldest located in central Copenhagen.
Battle of Copenhagen (1807)
The Second Battle of Copenhagen (or the Bombardment of Copenhagen) (16 August – 5 September 1807) was a British bombardment of Copenhagen in order to seize the Dano-Norwegian fleet. The attack gave rise to the term to Copenhagenize.
Strøget
Strøget is a carfree zone in Copenhagen, Denmark. This popular tourist attraction in the centre of town is the longest pedestrian shopping area in Europe. The street is bound on the west by The City Hall Square, the central town square by Copenhagen City Hall, and on the east by Kongens Nytorv ("The King's New Square"), another large square at the other end. But the Strøget area is actually a collection of streets that spread out from this central thoroughfare.
Borchs Kollegium
Borchs Kollegium was founded on 29 May 1691 to house (according to the will of the founder Oluff Borch) sixteen poor, God-fearing and learned students. It is one of the old dormitories of University of Copenhagen.
Danish Cultural Institute
The Danish Cultural Institute promotes cultural exchanges between Denmark and the rest of the world. It supports projects aimed at long-term cooperation between foreign and Danish cultural institutions, artists and other professionals. The current Secretary General is Finn Andersen.
Pan Club Copenhagen
Pan Club Copenhagen (often just referred to as Pan) was a gay club in central Copenhagen, Denmark which closed in 2007 after having been in operation on various locations in Copenhagen since 1970. Pan was one of Europe's biggest gay clubs and the biggest in Copenhagen. It attracted a large number of people, particularly in the weekends with Saturday being the biggest night. While people of almost all age groups came to the club, it was most popular with younger gay men and lesbians.
Church of Our Lady (Copenhagen)
The Church of Our Lady (Danish: Vor Frue Kirke) is the cathedral of Copenhagen and the National Cathedral of Denmark. It is situated on Vor Frue Plads and next to the main building of the University of Copenhagen. The present day version of the church was designed by the architect Christian Frederik Hansen in the neoclassical style and was completed in 1829.
DIS – Danish Institute for Study Abroad
DIS – Danish Institute for Study Abroad (DIS) is a Danish study abroad program, founded in 1959, affiliated with the University of Copenhagen and funded in part by the Danish government. It is a non-profit organization promoting international university-level education and exchange. All classes are taught in English in three buildings on Vestergade in central Copenhagen.
Gammeltorv
Gammeltorv (Old Market) is the oldest square in Copenhagen, Denmark. With adjoining Nytorv it forms a common space along the Strøget pedestrian zone. While the square dates back to the foundation of the city in the 12th century, most of its buildings were constructed after the Great Fire of 1795 in Neoclassical style. Another dominating feature is the Caritas Well, a Renaissance fountain erected by King Christian IV in 1610.
Nytorv
Nytorv is a public square in the centre of Copenhagen, Denmark. Together with the adjoining Gammeltorv it forms a common space, today part of the Strøget pedestrian zone. The square is dominated by the imposing Neoclassical façade of the Copenhagen Court House, which from 1815-1905 also served as the City Hall.
St. Peter's Church, Copenhagen
St. Peter's Church is the parish church of the German-speaking community in Copenhagen, Denmark. Built as a single-nave church in the mid-15th century, it is the oldest building in central Copenhagen. It is also notable for its extensive complex of sepulchral chapels.
Great Synagogue (Copenhagen)
The Great Synagogue is the main synagogue of the Jewish community in Copenhagen, Denmark. The synagogue is defined by its unique architecture around the Ark of the Law. During the first half of the 19th century, synagogues continued to be built in the classical tradition but there began to be a revival of Greek and Roman architecture. The Great Synagogue in Copenhagen is one of a few synagogues of its period to use Egyptian elements in the columns, ceiling and cornice over the ark.
LGBT Danmark
LGBT Danmark – Landsforeningen for bøsser, lesbiske, biseksuelle og transpersoner (Danish: LGBT Denmark - National association for gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transsexuals) is a lobby for gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transsexuals. The association was founded in 1948 as Circle of 1948 (Kredsen af 1948). The current name has been in use since November 2009; its former name, in use for 24 years prior, was Landsforeningen for Bøsser og Lesbiske, Forbundet af 1948, shortened to LBL.
Caritas Well
The Caritas Well is the oldest fountain in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was built in 1608 by Christian IV and is located on Gammeltorv, now part of the Strøget pedestrian zone. It is considered one of the city's finest Renaissance monuments.
Copenhagen Court House
The Copenhagen Court House is a historic building located on Nytorv in Copenhagen, Denmark. Originally built as a combuined city hall and courthouse, it now serves as the seat of the District Court of Copenhagen. Inauguated in 1815, it was built to the design of Christian Frederik Hansen in Neoclassical style.
Skindergade
Skindergade is a street in central Copenhagen, Denmark. Running roughly parallel to Strøget, to which it is connected through Jorcks Passage, it extends for approximately 400 metres from Gammeltorv to Købmagergade. Its name dates back to the 15th century when it was a venue for leather craftsmen such as skinners, glovers, purse-, saddle- and shoemakers.
Copenhagen Central Fire Station
Copenhagen Central Fire Station is the headquarters of Copenhagen Fire Department and located on HC Andersens Boulevard just behind Copenhagen City Hall and opposite Tivoli Gardens. It was designed by Ludvig Fenger and inaugurated in 1892.

The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research (CPR), located in the city of Copenhagen, is a subunit of the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Copenhagen. It is dedicated to promoting basic and applied discovery research on human proteins of medical relevance.
Vester Voldgade
Vester Voldgade is a street in Copenhagen, Denmark which runs from Jarmers Plads to the waterfront between Frederiksholms Kanal and Langebro, passing the City Hall Square on the way. Together with Nørre Voldgade and Øster Voldgade it forms a traffic artery which arches around the Zealand side of central Copenhagen all the way to Oslo Plads where it continues as Folke Bernadottes Allé along the western and northern periphery of Kastellet.

Bispegården in Copenhagen, Denmark, is the residence and office of the Bishop of Copenhagen. It is located across the street from Copenhagen Cathedral and Vor Frue Plads, on the corner of Nørregade and Studiestræde, in the city centre. Bispetorv, the small square next to it, is named after the building.

Bispetorv is a small public square in central Copenhagen, Denmark, located on the corner of Nørregade and Studiestræde. It takes its name from the Bishop's House, the official residence of the Bishop of Copenhagen, on the other side of Studiestræde. The square is dominated by the main entrance of Church of Our Lady which faces it on the other side of Nørregade. The Reformation Memorial which stands in the middle of the square is from 1943.

Stelling House is a building on Gammeltorv in the centre of Copenhagen, Denmark. Completed in 1937, it was designed as an office building and retail store for the A. Stelling paint company by Arne Jacobsen who took pains to have it blend in with the older buildings which surround it.
Christus (statue)
Christus (also known as Christus Consolator) is a 19th-century Carrara marble statue of the resurrected Jesus by Bertel Thorvaldsen. Since its creation, the statue has been located in the Church of Our Lady in Copenhagen, Denmark. In the 20th century, images and replicas of the statue were adopted by the leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) to emphasize the centrality of Jesus Christ in church teachings.
Palace Hotel (Copenhagen)
