Olza (river)
is a river in Poland and the Czech Republic, the right tributary of the Oder River. It flows from the Silesian Beskids through southern Cieszyn Silesia in Poland and Frýdek-Místek and Karviná districts of the Czech Republic, often forming the border with Poland. It flows into the Oder River north of Bohumín. The Olza-Oder confluence also forms a border. It is a symbol of the Zaolzie region, which lies on its west bank, constituting a part of the western half of Cieszyn Silesia.
Bohumín
Bohumín is a town in Karviná District, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic on the border with Poland. The confluence of the Oder (Odra) and Olza rivers is situated just north of the town. The town lies in the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia. Bohumín consists of Old Bohumín and industrial New Bohumín, while several villages are administratively part of the town. The majority of citizens are Czech; many citizens have Polish ancestry, although the Polish minority in Bohumín is small.
Dolní Lutyně
, is a village in Karviná District, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic, near the border with Poland, south of the Olza River. Village of Věřňovice (Wierzniowice) is administratively a part of Dolní Lutyně. The village lies in the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia. Village was first mentioned in a written document in 1305. Since 1700 it was a property of Taafe counts who built there a baroque château as their summer residence.
Rychvald
Rychvald is a town in the Karviná District, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic, in the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia. It has a population of 6,769 (2001 census). It was first mentioned in a historical document in 1305 as Richinwalde. There is a Catholic Saint Anne Church in the town.

Vrbice (Bohumín)
Vrbice is a village in Karviná District, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic. It was a separate municipality but became administratively a part of Bohumín in 1974. It has a population of 469 (August 2009). It was first mentioned in the document of Pope Gregory IX issued for Benedictine abbey in Tyniec in 1229 as Wierzbica. Politically it belonged then to the Duchy of Opole and Racibórz, and since 1290 to the Duchy of Teschen.

It was the location of the Polenlager 169, a Nazi concentration camp of Polenlager type, i.e. , primarily for Poles. It held the deported Poles who didn't sign a volkslist. It was operated on the base of the "Fryderyk" coal mine facilities in 1942–1945 in Kolonia Fryderyk.

Starý Bohumín
Starý Bohumín, lit. "Old Bohumín" is a part of the town of Bohumín in Karviná District, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic. It has a population of 1,534 (August 2009). The settlement was first mentioned in a written document in 1256 as Bogun and is the oldest part of today's town of Bohumín. Starý Bohumín lies on the Oder River, which forms a border with Poland. Before the construction of the Bohumín-Košice railway line, local inhabitants opposed train station to be built in their town.
Nový Bohumín
Nový Bohumín, lit. "New Bohumín" is a part of the town of Bohumín in Karviná District, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic. It has a population of 14,033 (August 2009). It is the newest part of today's town of Bohumín. First buildings appeared in the middle of the 19th century, when the Bohumín-Košice railway line was being constructed. Residential houses for workers, as well as industrial buildings were built.
