Vendryně
Vendryně is a village in Frýdek-Místek District, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic, on the banks of the Olza River. It has a population of 3,842 (2001 census), 35.3% of the population are Poles. The village lies in the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia. The village is first mentioned in a written document in 1305. In the 19th century an iron ore was mined in the village for the iron works in Ustroń and later the Třinec Iron and Steel Works in Třinec. Limestone was mined until 1965.
Třinec
Třinec is a town in Frýdek-Místek District, Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It lies on the Olza River, in the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia. The town has 37,405 inhabitants as of 2009, in 2001 17.7% of the population were Poles. The town is notable for its steel plant, the Třinec Iron and Steel Works, largest one in the Czech Republic, which still has a major impact on the town, on its character, demographics and air pollution.
Hluchová
Hluchová (Polish: Głuchówka or Głuchowa) is a 13,2 km long river in Frýdek-Místek District, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic. It is the right tributary of the Olza River, to which it enters in Bystřice. It originates near the border with Poland and flows through the villages of Nýdek and Bystřice.
Bystřice (Frýdek-Místek District)
is a large village in Frýdek-Místek District, Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It has a population of 5,173 (2006), Poles are 29.7% of the population. It lies between the Silesian and Moravian-Silesian Beskids mountain ranges, in the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia. The Hluchová River flows to the Olza River in the village. Village was first mentioned in a written document in 1423 although it is probable that it has beginnings in the 14th century.
Lyžbice
Lyžbice is a part of the town of Třinec in Frýdek-Místek District, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic, on the Olza River. It was a separate municipality but later became administratively a part of the town of Třinec. It lies in the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia and has a population of 17,239 (1 January 2008). Until the rapid expansion of Třinec in the 20th century, it was a larger and more populous village than Třinec.
Karpentná
Karpentná is a village in Frýdek-Místek District, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic. It was a separate municipality but became administratively a part of Třinec in 1980. It lies in the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia and has a population of 705 (1 January 2008). Popular folk song in the regional dialect Na Karpyntnej zdechnył kóń (A Horse Died in Karpętna) refers to the village.
Horní Líštná
Horní Líštná is a village in Frýdek-Místek District, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic. It was a separate municipality but became administratively a part of Třinec in 1960. It lies on the border with Poland, in the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia and has a population of 311 (1 January 2008). Until the 1920 division of Cieszyn Silesia between Poland and Czechoslovakia it was a part of the village of Leszna Górna, which now lies in Poland.
Dolní Líštná
Dolní Líštná is a village in Frýdek-Místek District, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic. It was a separate municipality but became administratively a part of Třinec in 1946. It lies in the historical region of Cieszyn Silesia and has a population of 4,600 (1 January 2008).
