Varaždin
Varaždin is a city in North Croatia, 81 km north of Zagreb on the highway A4. The total population is 47,055, with 38,746 on 34.22 km of the city settlement itself (2011). Varaždin Arena is a multi-use indoor arena in Varaždin, Croatia. It is used mostly for team handball and basketball matches. The stadium has a capacity of 5,400 people. It was used as one of the venues during the 2009 World Men's Handball Championship. It hosted all the Group C matches which consisted of Germany, Macedonia, Algeria, Poland, Russia and Algeria. The arena was officially opened on 6 December 2008.
