Art Pavilion in Zagreb
The Art Pavilion in Zagreb (Croatian: Umjetnički paviljon u Zagrebu) is an art gallery in Zagreb, Croatia. The Pavilion is located in the Lower Town area of the city, south of Nikola Šubić Zrinski Square and just north of the King Tomislav Square with the Zagreb Central Station. Established in 1898, it is the oldest gallery in the Southeast Europe and the only purpose-built gallery in Zagreb designed specifically to accommodate large scale exhibitions.
Classical Gymnasium in Zagreb
The Classical Gymnasium in Zagreb is the home of the oldest high schools (a gymnasium, to be precise) in Croatia and southeastern Europe. It was founded by the Society of Jesus in 1607 and hasn't stopped working since. In its first year of work, it had 260 students, and it operated on the basis of the Jesuit programme "Ratio atque institutio studiorum societatis Jesu".

Pavao Šubić Avenue
Pavao Šubić Avenue (Croatian: Avenija Pavla Šubića, also commonly known as Šubićeva) is an avenue in Zagreb, Croatia. It connects Kvaternik Square with Petar Krešimir IV Square. It serves as the border between Maksimir and Peščenica city districts. Pavao Šubić Avenue is four-lane in its entire length with tram tracks between the roadways. Due to the tram tracks left-turns are forbidden at some intersections.
Marin Držić Avenue
Marin Držić Avenue (Croatian: Avenija Marina Držića) is an important north-south avenue in the central-eastern part of Zagreb, Croatia. It is named after Marin Držić, a famous Croatian poet from the 16th century. It starts at the Petar Krešimir IV Square where it continues south from Pavao Šubić Avenue. It intersects with the Branimirova Avenue, Vukovarska Avenue, Slavonska Avenue, Milka Trnina Street, Sajmišna Road and ends at Dubrovnik Avenue, continuing south as Sarajevska Road.
Zagreb train disaster
The Zagreb train disaster occurred on August 30, 1974, when an express train traveling from Belgrade to Dortmund derailed before entering Zagreb Main Station, killing 153 people. It was the worst rail accident in the country’s history to that date and remains one of the worst in Europe’s history. Many of the passengers died immediately, as many as 41 of whom could not be identified and were buried in a common grave at the Mirogoj Cemetery.
Ribnjak, Zagreb
Ribnjak is a neighborhood in the Gornji Grad - Medveščak district of Zagreb, Croatia, directly east of the Zagreb Cathedral. According to the 2001 census, the neighborhood has 2,956 inhabitants. In 2009, the population was 1,770. It is centered mainly around its main north-south thoroughfare, the Ribnjak Street. ZET tram tracks in the Ribnjak Road pass through the neighborhood, carrying lines 8 and 14.
2008 Zagreb bombing
The 23 October 2008 Zagreb bombing was an attack by a remote-detonation car bomb fitted on a motorcycle outside the Croatian Nacional newspaper's premises in the Croatian capital, Zagreb. The attack killed the owner of the newspaper, Ivo Pukanić, and Niko Franjić, its marketing manager, and injured two more people. The explosion occurred in the centre of the capital at 18:10 local time . Numerous arrests of suspects around the country followed.
Strossmayer Gallery of Old Masters
The Strossmayer Gallery of Old Masters (Strossmayerova Galerija Starih Majstora) is a fine art museum in Zagreb, Croatia exhibiting the collection donated to the city by Bishop Josip Juraj Strossmayer in 1884. Located at 11 Nikola Šubić Zrinski Square, it forms part of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (Hrvatske Akademija Znanosti i Umjetnosti).
Zagreb Synagogue
The Zagreb Synagogue was the main place of worship for the Jewish community of Zagreb in modern-day Croatia, from its construction in 1867 in the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia within the Austrian Empire, until its demolition by the fascist authorities in 1941 in the Axis-aligned Independent State of Croatia. The Moorish Revival synagogue was located on modern-day Praška Street and has been the only purpose-built Jewish house of worship in the history of the city.
Nikola Šubić Zrinski Square
Nikola Šubić Zrinski Square (Croatian: Trg Nikole Šubića Zrinskog, popularly referred to as Zrinjevac) is a square and park in Donji Grad, the central part of Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. It is located near the central Ban Jelačić Square, halfway towards the Main Railway Station. It is a part of the so-called Green horseshoe or Lenuzzi's horseshoe (Croatian: Zelena potkova or Lenucijeva potkova), which consists of seven squares in Donji grad.
Zagreb Central Station
Zagreb Central Station (Croatian: Zagrebački Glavni kolodvor) is the principal railway station in Zagreb and the largest in Croatia. It is located on King Tomislav Square in the centre of Zagreb. The construction of the building was started in 1890 and was officially opened in 1892. The project was overseen by Hungarian architect Ferenc Pfaff. Larger reconstruction were made in 1986–87 (just before the 1987 Summer Universiade), and again in 2006.

Modern Gallery, Zagreb

Sabotage at the General Post Office in Zagreb
Sabotage at the General Post Office in Zagreb took place during the Second World War on Sunday, 14 September 1941. Zagreb was the capital city of the NDH, a puppet state of Nazi Germany. At exactly 12.30 p.m. two muffled explosions were heard, all glass in the main post office building was broken, and through the window flew out a large quantity of office paper and all kinds of documents.
