Trsteno
Trsteno is a village northwest of Dubrovnik in southern Croatia, population 237 (2001). It is located on the magistral road between the villages Orašac and Slano.
Lopud
Lopud is a small island (4.5 km) off the coast of Dalmatia, southern Croatia. Lopud is one of the Elaphiti Islands, and can be reached by boat from Dubrovnik, Orasac and Zaton. The island is famous for its sandy beaches, in particular the bay of Šunj. Lopud is the second largest island of the Elaphiti islands,between Kolocep and Sipan. Economically the most developed island of the Elaphiti is famous as the "island in the middle" (Insula Media).
Orašac, Croatia
Orašac is a village in southern Croatia, northwest of Dubrovnik, between Trsteno and Zaton. It is located in the Dubrovačko Primorje (Dubrovnik littoral). This village was founded around AD 1040. In the centre of the town the houses are built close to each other. This once was a means of protection from the Neretva pirates.
Koločep
The island of Koločep is one of the three inhabited Elaphiti Islands situated near the city of Dubrovnik with an area of 2.44 km. Koločep is the southernmost inhabited island in Croatia and is locally known as Kalamota. In the 2011 census, the population of the island was 165.
Brsečine
Brsečine is a village in the north-western part of the Dubrovnik littoral in Croatia, about 1 m from the cove bearing the same name, 25 km northwest of Dubrovnik. Population is 96 (2011). Economy is based on farming and fishing. Brsečine is protected from cold, northerly winds by the limestone crests of Kondulo. It is located on the main road Split - Dubrovnik (M2, E65). Brsečine is one of the favourite excursion destinations of the citizens of Dubrovnik.
Trsteno Arboretum
Trsteno Arboretum, located in Trsteno, Croatia, is the oldest arboretum in this part of the world. The arboretum was erected by the local noble family Gozze in the late 15th century, who requested ship captains to bring back seeds and plants from their travels. The exact start date for the arboretum is unknown, but it was already in existence by 1492, when a 15 m span aqueduct to irrigate the arboretum was constructed; this aqueduct is still in use.
