Shanghai
Shanghai is the largest city by population in the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the largest city proper by population in the world. It is one of the four province-level municipalities of the PRC, with a total population of over 23 million as of 2010. It is a global city, with influence in commerce, culture, finance, media, fashion, technology, and transport. It is a major financial center and the busiest container port in the world.
Shanghai Grand Theatre
The Shanghai Grand Theatre is one of the largest and best-equipped automatic stages in the world. Since the theatre opened on August 27th, 1998, it has staged over 6,000 performances of operas, musicals, ballets, symphonies, chamber musicconcerts, spoken dramas and various Chinese operas. The site is located at the intersection of Central Boulevard and Huangpi Road South in northern part of the People's Square in Huangpu District, Shanghai, China.
Jing'an District
Jing'an District is one of the central districts of Shanghai. It has an area of 7.62 km². With 305,300 inhabitants (in 2002) it is one of Shanghai's most densely populated districts. The district borders the Huangpu District in the east and south, Putuo District to the north and Changning District to the west. It is also home to one of Shanghai's business districts as can be seen in photos below.
Shanghai Art Museum
The Shanghai Art Museum (上海美术馆) was an art museum in the city of Shanghai, China. In October 2012 the museum rebranded as the "China Art Museum, Shanghai" (中华艺术宫) when it moved to the China pavilion at Expo 2010 on the former Shanghai Expo 2010 lands. The Shanghai Art Museum building is the former clubhouse building of the Shanghai Race Club. It sits on the edge of People's Square, which was once the Shanghai race course. The Shanghai Art Museum was the original home of the Shanghai Biennale.
Zhabei District
Zhabei District of Shanghai has a land area of 29.26 km² and a resident population of 810,211 as of 2003. It is one of the downtown districts of Shanghai though the commercial potential has been continuously undervalued.
Nanjing Road (Shanghai)
Nanjing Road is the main shopping street of Shanghai, China, and is one of the world's busiest shopping streets. Today's Nanjing Road comprises two sections, Nanjing Road East and Nanjing Road West. In some contexts, "Nanjing Road" refers only to what was pre-1945 Nanjing Road, today's Nanjing Road East, which is largely pedestrianised. Prior to 1949, the road's English name was rendered "Nanking Road" using the standard romanization of the time.
Hanzhong Road Station
Hanzhong Road Station is the name of a station on Line 1 of the Shanghai Metro. It is situated within the inner ring-road of Shanghai. This station will also serve Lines 12 and 13 when they enter operation in 2012.
People's Square (Shanghai)
People's Square is a large public square adjacent to Nanjing Road in the Huangpu District of Shanghai, China. People's Square is the site of Shanghai's municipal government headquarter building, and is used as the standard reference point for measurement of distance in the Shanghai municipality.
Shanghai Railway Station
Shanghai Railway Station is one of the four major railway stations in Shanghai, China, the others being Shanghai South Railway Station, Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station and Shanghai West Railway Station. The station is located on Moling Road, Zhabei District, to the North of the city centre. It is governed by Shanghai Railway Bureau and is one of the most important hubs of the railway network in China.
Xinzha Road Station
Xinzha Road is the name of a station on Shanghai Metro Line 1. This station is part of that line, situated within the inner ring-road of Shanghai.
Baoshan Road Station
Baoshan Road Station is a station shared between Lines 3 and 4 on the Shanghai Metro. It is located in Zhabei District and is the northernmost station shared between these lines. The station is located near the Shanghai Railway Museum.
Defense of Sihang Warehouse
The Defense of Sihang Warehouse took place from October 26 to November 1, 1937, and marked the beginning of the end of the three-month Battle of Shanghai in the opening phase of the Second Sino-Japanese War. Defenders of the warehouse, known in China as the Eight Hundred Heroes, held out against numerous waves of Japanese forces and covered Chinese forces retreating west during the Battle of Shanghai.
Customs House, Shanghai
The Customs House is an eight storey building on the Bund, Shanghai. Built in 1927, the building remains a customs house today. Together with the neighbouring HSBC Building, the Customs House is seen as one of the symbols of the Bund and Shanghai.
General Post Office Building, Shanghai
The General Post Office Building is a landmark four story building located at the north end of the Sichuan Road Bridge, Shanghai, China on the banks of the Suzhou Creek.
East Nanjing Road Station
East Nanjing Road Station is an interchange station between Lines 2 and 10 on the Shanghai Metro. It is located in Huangpu District, under the intersection of Nanjing Road (E. ) and Henan Road (M. ) in the city center of Shanghai. Before October 2006, it was known as Middle Henan Road station.
West Nanjing Road Station
Nanjing Road West is the name of a station on Line 2, Shanghai Metro of the Shanghai Metro. This station is conveniently located along one of Shanghai's main commercial streets, with a number of international flagship stores situated nearby. Before October 2006, it was known as Shimen No. 1 Road station (石门一路站).
People's Square Station
People's Square is the name of a large interchange station of the Shanghai Metro, located below People's Square in the city center of Shanghai. The station is reputedly the busiest metro station in all of China, handling a daily traffic of 400,000. The station is an interchange between Lines 1, 2 and 8, making it an important interchange station boasting close to twenty exits.
Shanghai Railway Station (Metro)
Shanghai Railway Station Station is an interchange station between Lines 1, 3 and 4 on the Shanghai Metro. It is one of the stations where Line 3 and Line 4 share the same tracks and elevated platforms. The transfer between Line 1 and Line 3/Line 4 is actually quite long. Both metro stations are located on the opposing sides of the train station with a long tunnel connecting both platforms.
Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center
The Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center is located on People's Square, Shanghai, China, adjacent to the municipal government building. The Exhibition Center is a six-story building, with two basement levels, which displays Shanghai's urban planning and development. The focus of the exhibit is a large scale model of the entirety of urban Shanghai, showing existing buildings and approved future buildings.
Qufu Road Station
Qufu Road is the name of a station on Line 8 of the Shanghai Metro. This station began operation on December 29, 2007 and it is located in Shanghai's Zhabei District. The station will provide an interchange with Line 12 when the line enters operation in 2012.
Dashijie Station
Dashijie Station is a station on Shanghai Metro Line 8. It began operation on December 29, 2007. The shortest distance between two stations on the Shanghai Metro system is that between Dashijie and People's Square. The station in linked to an underground shopping complex containing a McDonald's and other fast food outlets.

Shanghai Concert Hall
Shanghai Concert Hall is located on the intersection of Yan'an Rd and South Tibet Rd of Huangpu District, Shanghai. It was founded in 1930, originally named Nanjing Drama Hall. In 1949, it adopted the name Beijing Cinema. In 1959, it was named Shanghai Concert Hall till today. The hall can accommodate 1,122 seats, 640 on the ground floor and 482 on the second floor. The stage is 8.35 metres by 16 metres, covering around 100 sq. metres.
50 Moganshan Road
50 Moganshan Road or M50 is a contemporary art district in Shanghai that houses a thriving community of more than 100 artists whose studios are open to the public. It is often compared with New York's SoHo and Beijing's 798 Art Zone. The art quarter has become a popular cultural attraction for local and international visitors alike, and was named among the top ten things to do in Shanghai by Time Magazine.
Tiantong Road Station
Tiantong Road is a station on Line 10 of the Shanghai Metro. It entered operation on April 10, 2010.
