Xiuying is a county-level district under the jurisdiction of Haikou city, in Hainan, a province of the People's Republic of China. The district's total area is 512 square kilometers, and its population was 290,000 people in 2002.

Hainan Normal University
Hainan Normal University, is located in Haikou city and is the province's oldest institution for higher learning. Over 20,000 students are enrolled, including about 200 foreigners. The 3,347 sq. metre campus is also home to The Secondary School Teacher’s Continuation Education Centre of Hainan and the Training Centre for Higher Learning Institution are also located on the campus. In 2008, a new campus opened in Guilinyang Town, several kilometres southeast of Haikou.
Temple of Five Lords
The Temple of Five Lords is a memorial to five officials from the Tang and Song dynasties located to the southeast of the city of Haikou on the island of Hainan, China. During the times of these dynasties, Hainan was perceived as a remote part of the empire and was used as a place for banishment for disgraced court officials. All five officials commemorated at the temple encountered such a fate, typically after losing power struggles within the imperial court.

Qiaozhong Road Tunnel
The Qiaozhong Road Tunnel (海口侨中路通) is a tunnel in Haikou, Hainan Province, China. It connects Qiaozhong Road with Yusha Road, and is the only tunnel in the city. The tunnel runs north-south, with two lanes in each direction, separated by a full, solid wall. The sides of the tunnel have a separate route which is shared by two-wheeled vehicles and pedestrians. This is separated from the main motor vehicle traffic by a low fence, and is raised to curb height.
Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences
The Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences (CATAS) (中国热带农业科学院) is an agricultural university located in Haikou City, Hainan Province, China. The academy was founded in 1954 in Guangzhou. It later moved to Danzhou, Hainan, and then to its current location in the south part of Haikou, beside the Hainan Medical College. Today, the academy has more than 3,000 staff members, 2,000 of which are involved in research work.
