Jingshan Park
Jingshan is an artificial hill in Beijing, China. Covering an area of more than 230,000 m², Jingshan is immediately north of the Forbidden City on the central axis of Beijing. As a result, it is administratively part of both the Xicheng District and the Dongcheng District. Originally an imperial garden, it is now a public park, known as Jingshan Park (景山公园).
Beihai Park
Beihai Park is an imperial garden to the northwest of the Forbidden City in Beijing. First built in the 10th century, it is amongst the largest of Chinese gardens, and contains numerous historically important structures, palaces and temples. Since 1925, the place has been open to the public as a park. It is also connected at the south to the Shichahai. The Park has an area of more than 69 hectares, with a lake that covers more than half of the entire Park.
Gulou and Zhonglou (Beijing)
Gǔlóu (鼓楼), the drum tower of Beijing, is situated at the northern end of the central axis of the Inner City to the north of Di’ anmen Street. Originally built for musical reasons, it was later used to announce the time and is now a tourist attraction. Zhōnglóu (钟楼), the bell tower of Beijing, stands closely behind the drum tower. Together with the drum tower, they provide an overview of central Beijing and before the modern era, they both dominated Beijing's ancient skyline.
Gate of Divine Might
The Gate of Divine Might or Gate of Divine Prowess is the northern gate of the Forbidden City in Beijing, China. It faces Jingshan Park. A tablet above the doorway reads "The Palace Museum" in Chinese. The Gate was originally named The Black Tortoise Gate, this being the traditional name for the northern gate of a Chinese Imperial Palace. However when the Kangxi Emperor, whose birth name was Xuanye (玄燁), ascended to the throne, the word Xuán (玄) became a sacred taboo.
Houhai
Houhai is a lake and its surrounding district in central Beijing, one of the three bodies of water composing the Shichahai. In recent years the area has become known for its nightlife as it is home to many popular restaurants, bars, and cafes. Houhai is situated near Bei Hai (a lake and park), and is surrounded by hutongs, but is not itself a hutong.
Prince Gong Mansion
The Prince Gong Mansion, also called the Prince Kung's Mansion, is a museum located in the western part of central Beijing, China, north of the Shichahai Lake. Consisting of large mansions in the typical siheyuan layout and gardens, the Prince Gong Mansion is known as one of the most ornate and extravagant residence compounds in all of Beijing.
Shichahai
Shichahai is an historic scenic area consisting of three lakes in the north of central Beijing in China. They are located to the north-west of the Forbidden City and north-west of the Beihai Lake. Shichahai consists of the following three lakes: Qianhai (前海), Xihai (西海) and Houhai (后海). In imperial times it was called the Riverbank.
Guanghua Temple (Beijing)
Guanghua Temple is located on 31 Ya'er Hutong, north of Shichahai in the Xicheng District of Beijing. First found during the Yuan Dynasty (1271 - 1368), it is one of Beijing's most renowned Buddhist temples.

Xiancantan
The Xiancantan, known in English as Altar to the Goddess of Silkworms, is an imperial altar in Beijing, China, similar to the Imperial Ancestral Hall, Xiannongtan (Temple of Agriculture) and the Altar of Earth and Harvests. It is located at the eastern ground of the Beihai Park, a large imperial garden in the city's historical centre. It can be reached by a bridge from the Temple of the Dragon King (Longwangmiao).
Huode Zhenjun Temple
The Huode Zhenjun Temple (火德真君庙), also known as the Fire-Fiend Temple, located near the Shichahai in central Beijing, is a prominent Taoist temple of the city. First built during the Ming Dynasty and then rebuilt in 1759 during the Qing Dynasty, the temple is known for one of its gate, which boasts its yellow colored glaze tiles that were granted by the Emperor.
