Uele River
The Uele River, also spelled Welle River, is a river in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It originates in the mountains near Lake Albert and flows west for about 1,210 kilometres to join the Mbomou River at Yakoma. The Uele forms at Dungu, where the Dungu River joins the Kibali River. The Uele–Mbomou confluence at Yakoma marks the start of the Ubangi River, which in turn flows into the Congo River. The Uele is the longest tributary of the Ubangi.
Mbomou River
The Mbomou River or Bomu (also spelled M'bomou in French) forms part of the boundary between the Central African Republic (CAR) and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The Mbomou merges with the Uele River to form the Ubangi River. The Ubangi, a tributary of the Congo, also serves as part of the border between the CAR and the DRC.
Abiras
Abiras is a city in the present Central African Republic. When the C.A.R. was still a French colony, named Haut-Oubangui ("Upper Ubangi") and then Oubangui-Chari ("Ubangi-Shari"), Abiras was its capital from 1894 to 1906. It was then replaced by the present capital Bangui.
