Spruce Lake, Saskatchewan
Spruce Lake is a hamlet in west-central Saskatchewan. Its population is at about 50. The area around Spruce Lake was first settled in 1910. Quite a large number of the first settlers were German. There were also large amounts of Scandinavians, British, Ukrainian, Polish, and French settlers. The Canadian Northern Railway (now the Canadian National Railway0 came through in 1919 and the first grain elevator was built that year. Cattle was also shipped from Spruce Lake on the railway.
Turtleford (electoral district)
Turtleford was a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of the province of Saskatchewan, Canada, centered on the town of Turtleford. Created before the 4th Saskatchewan general election in 1917, this constituency was dissolved and combined with the Cut Knife district before the 23rd Saskatchewan general election in 1995. It is now part of the ridings of Cut Knife-Turtleford and Rosthern-Shellbrook.
