Regina is the capital city of the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. The city is the second-largest in the province and a cultural and commercial centre for southern Saskatchewan. It is governed by Regina City Council. Regina is the cathedral city of the Roman Catholic and Romanian Orthodox Dioceses of Regina and the Anglican Diocese of Qu'Appelle. Brandt Centre
The Brandt Centre, formerly Regina Agridome, is an indoor arena in Regina, Saskatchewan. Built in 1977, it is the home arena for the WHL's Regina Pats and also hosts concerts, rodeos and the like. It replaced Regina Exhibition Stadium. It was renamed in 2005 when Regina-based agricultural equipment firm Brandt bought its naming rights. The arena has hosted numerous Tim Hortons Briers and Scotties Tournament of Hearts, as well as the Memorial Cup.
Government House (Saskatchewan)
Government House, Regina, Saskatchewan, was constructed as a residence for the Lieutenant-Governor of the North-West Territories, whose territorial headquarters were in Regina until the provinces of Saskatchewan and Alberta were created out of the Territories in 1905 and Regina became the capital of Saskatchewan.
Regina Exhibition Stadium
The Regina Exhibition Stadium, also known as the Queen City Gardens, is an indoor arena located in Regina, Saskatchewan. Built in 1919, it is a part of the Regina Exhibition Park and hosted the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League before the construction of the Agridome in 1977. Exhibition Stadium still stands today and is used for agricultural exhibitions, minor hockey, broomball, and other special occasions. It is presently the oldest standing hockey arena in Canada still in use.
