Sainte-Thérèse Assembly was a General Motors Canada automobile factory, which opened in 1966. It was located in the Montreal suburb of Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec. In the mid-1980s, the plant was facing closure due to high absenteeism and low quality of the G-body cars built there.

Special Handling Unit
The Special Handling Unit is Canada's highest security prison. It is co-located with the Ste-Anne-des-Plaines Institution (maximum security) and the Regional Reception Centre, at the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) complex at Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines, Quebec (a short distance from Mirabel International Airport). As of 2008, there were 90 prisoners at the SHU. It is nicknamed "the SHU" (pronounced 'shoe'). The X shaped facility is surrounded by fencing which is in turn surrounded by farms.

Trans-Canada Air Lines Flight 831
Trans-Canada Air Lines (TCA) Flight 831 was a flight from Montreal-Dorval Airport (now Montréal/Trudeau) to Toronto International Airport (now Toronto-Pearson) on November 29, 1963. The aircraft was a four-engine Douglas DC-8-54CF airliner, registered CF-TJN. About five minutes after takeoff in poor weather, the jet crashed about 20 miles north of Montreal, near Ste-Thérèse-de-Blainville, Quebec, Canada, killing all 118 people on board: 111 passengers and 7 crew members.

Preparations began on January 29, 2008 for 1,400,000 square feet of shops, a luxury hotel, and various sports installations. The mall was to be anchored by Bass Pro Shops, an outdoor equipment superstore, and a Sears Canada store, rumoured to be under the Eaton banner, which is further supported by working plans. It originally was planned with a Cabela's and Les Ailes de la Mode.

Ste. Sophie landfill
The Sainte Sophie Landfill', is a landfill in Ste. Sophie, Quebec, near Montreal Canada. It has been operated by Intersan since 1997 and open for 11 years, collects approximately 850,000 metric tonnes (937,000 tons) annually. The bioreactor landfill is located on a 30-acre, double-lined corner of the permitted landfill site. Along with the Lachenaie landfill, these dumps collect garbage for the Greater Montreal Area.
Sainte-Scholastique, Quebec
The village of Sainte-Scholastique, Quebec, Canada, was the historic seat of Deux Montagnes County from 1834 until its amalgamation with neighboring towns in 1971. Two years later it was renamed to Mirabel. The village was named after Saint Scholastica, the sister of Saint Benedict of Nursia (in French, Benoît), for whom the neighboring village of Saint-Benoît, Quebec was also named that same year.
