Bishop's University

Bishop's University is a predominantly undergraduate university in Lennoxville, Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. Bishop's is one of three universities in the province of Quebec that teach primarily in the English language. The university shares a campus with its neighbour, Champlain College Lennoxville, an English language public college. It remains one of Canada's few primarily undergraduate universities.

Lennoxville, Quebec

Lennoxville is an arrondissement, or borough, of the city of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. Lennoxville is located at the confluence of the St. Francis and Massawippi Rivers approximately five kilometers south of downtown Sherbrooke. Prior to January 1, 2002 Lennoxville existed as an independent town. On January 1, 2002 the Town of Lennoxville along with several other formerly independent towns and cities in the region were merged with the City of Sherbrooke.

The borough comprises the former city of Fleurimont and the eastern portion of pre-amalgamation Sherbrooke. As a separate city, Fleurimont had a population of 16,521 in the Canada 2001 Census. As a borough of Sherbrooke, it has a population of 41,289, making it the most populous borough in the city.

Sherbrooke War Memorial

The Sherbrooke War Memorial is a cenotaph erected in 1926, on King Street, in Sherbrooke, Quebec, to commemorate Sherbrooke residents who fought in World War I. This piece of cultural heritage has become emblematic of the city of Sherbrooke, which counts it among its ten main "points of interest". The monument was designed by George William Hill, one of the foremost Canadian sculptors of the first half of the 20th century.
